Zombie defence pocket chainsaw

This is one of the most exciting things I've found on eBay in a while.   Anyone who uses a chainsaw regularly will know that they carry quite significant hazards due to the aggressive fast moving blades.

So here's a little pocket one with no secondary safety interlock to ensure maximum risk.

On a plus note, this cheap tool comes with a seemingly acceptable pair of rechargeable batteries and matching charger.  It's also a fun collectible for those of us who like dangerous little things.

It's much faster and easier than a handsaw. Also gratifyingly dangerous, although I have managed to injure myself with unpowered handsaws too.

Looks like a lot of hardware and electronics to replace a good hand saw. My arm is variable speed, faster, and doesn't need oil. Now put it on a poll and maybe it's better on a floppy branch. Interesting tear down still.

I'm not sure, but you can get clone Makita batteries. Some of the listings did mention Makita, but sometimes they just copy and paste random strings of words.

Big Clive

That definitely isn't a Makita style battery, it's much more like Black & Decker. Some of the others I've seen on Banggood have Makita style batteries.

Matt Tester

There is plenty of room inside the back top of the body to place a recessed switch (within thumb distance) that could act as a “you must push this too to activate this tool” button. Perhaps revisit this with a 3D printed mod to make this a tad safer?

Clive it’s an eighteen-sixfifty, common now … Teslas are powered with these IIRC. 1-8-6-5-Zero hah, I work with software Also > 90% of old school vape mods (the good ones)

Efault

Does the battery fit Makita as I have other Makita tools??

OK I ordered one a couple weeks ago but did not find one with UK plug only Australian/euro/ American so as a cheapskate ordered the USA version as £10 cheaper £ 30 Inc delivery. Thought it might be safer over the petrol and electric versions but now seeing Clive that was a mistake. Well once it arrives I can say I have a full collection of chainsaw for the Zombie Apocalypse.

N. Shaun Tremayne

I need one of these, not for any particular reason - I just need one! hahaha !

Mike Hughes

It's a brushless motor because spare brushes aren't available

adrian

I think only department of un-health and lack of safety would be dissapointed with this.

Dr Andy Hill

Not recently. I really should, but would guess it will be a dedicated chip and MOSFET.

Big Clive

Clive, have you taken one of those variable speed triggers apart? I've wondered what's in them.

John Hiesey

Chainsaws spray too much zombie juice. You don't want to get zombified by inhailing zombie juice.

Mark Trombley

I have one similar but it does have a safety switch like a full size chainsaw. It works good enough for me.

Earl Plotner

I missed the stream but get this as a consolation prize. I like it :)
