Ambient lamp video
Added 2022-12-05 22:38:20 +0000 UTCWhen I post these simple lamp videos it means I'm having a frustrating time with another teardown.
In this case the other teardown is the 20/40V Ferrex battery pack, which has mystery chips, and very weird cell voltage monitoring with a complex analogue multiplexing system and individual cell voltages computed in software.
Hopefully that video will be complete soon, but it will probably end up being annoyingly short vs the amount of work that went into it, and will also probably be less popular than this one due to being more "niche".
I've ordered a 20V tool on eBay to see if it does just bang the separate batteries in parallel.

Thanks Big Clive. Glad there's a little relief in a friendly lamp teardown and it's a cool one we haven't seen (I don't think) With a little smoothing, they would be quite nice little accent lamps. Late to reply here BTW. I've seen the Battery circuit you were working on now and Holy Cow! That thing is wildly complex, moreso than I can wrap my head around. I guess I'll leave battery design to the pros. :-O
