Aldi battery MKII with full schematics

Even if it does have a mystery chip I decided to reverse engineer the unit completely anyway.  There are 5 pages of schematic and I still haven't identified the chip.

There's also some weird circuitry stuff going on, and the communication circuitry required a revisit to the battery schematics to make a correction that makes much more sense of the NTC pins communication facility.

The official charger will probably lock out if it detects the battery voltage is too low. The cheap charger will probably just bang out charge current regardless.

Thanks Big Clive. I'm constantly amazed how you can work out these really complex circuits. Very cool!

My charger has a suicide function if it suspects the batter it will not charge about 10y ago I bought a set Makita 10.8V, 2, 1.3Ah x, LCT204W drill and driver Online I bought a simple charger and a spare battery, all three batteries charge and work. I charge them on a concert floor just in case. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174609086760 I am sure there is only minimum protection for the cells, there is not much inside the charger The impact driver is only 90Nm which is enough for most of my work and easy to use since it weighs only 1kg all the best
