Something different - a motor overload relay

I've never taken one of these to bits before.  It was reassuringly close to what I was expecting.

I'll confess.  The first time I installed one of these (on a large fan in a compressor room) I didn't realise it had to be wired in series with the contactor coil.  I thought it broke the circuit directly itself.  I've a feeling I'm not the only one who's made that mistake.

It goes up to 36V with up to 5A on the 16V range and 2 on the highest range. A 30V 2A power supply is ample for most applications.

I am curious: What actually is your bench power supply ? I don't specially need make and model, but the type and size/characteristics would be interesting. thank you

Where is the hammer of knowledge when you need it?
