2023-10-09 20:15:14 +0000 UTCI've been looking for what's available locally, and the options for alpha detection were quite low and lab-grade prices. I've just ordered a scintillation detector to experiment with. No direct alpha detection, but a bit of trickery in detecting byproducts.

2023-10-09 20:14:49 +0000 UTCIf you want to detect alpha decay, you could try a Voltcraft RM400, PCE-RAM 10, CEM DT-9501 or REED R8008. They often appear on eBay as customer returns. I bought one once for around 200 EUR, but I was not able to really test it, since the display was not working properly, so I had to return it.
