Poundland wind turbine
Added 2023-05-16 00:03:09 +0000 UTCAn odd and unexpected variation on the classic garden whirly ornaments. It's a VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine) version that seems to be based on the classic Savonius turbine.
In the video I took the rivet/eyelet out and flattened the thing so we could see how it had been formed. There's also a link in the description to start a long Internet journey into the world of vertical turbines.

Aw, seeing this at first I thought Poundland had made a VAWT generator to charge a battery and power a little garden LED light. But its just a vertical version of the little wind spinners we used to make from paper as children in 1970s (or in the case of my father, from aluminum!)
