Old tungsten flashing roadwork beacon

Apart from being visually appealing, this unit has one of the most minimalist transistorised lamp flashers I've come across.  Literally two transistors, two resistors and a capacitor.

Here's minimalist for you.. When I was a kid, I 'came across' one of these, obviously took it to bits; no pbc, no components at all, just a bulb with a tiny bimetallic strip to do the flashing...

I see the little solar beacon in Ramsey docks is on the map too.

Occulting lights from my sailing days some navigation lights "Flash Black" ;-) I often use these sea maps I have provided a link to Douglas harbour for you https://map.openseamap.org/?zoom=17&lon=-4.46993&lat=54.14722&layers=FFTFFFTFFTFBFFFFTFFFFF Note you can turn on marine traffic to see where the boats are. The little harbour has 2 blue markers I think they are Occulting Oc Bu 10s9 I also found this word search for Occulting https://iomstampsnews.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/harbour-lights-minor-lighthouses-of-the-isle-of-man-a-guiding-light/ A bit off topic In the past lighthouse rotating lenses floated on a bath of mercury. All the best
