I had high hopes for these solar wall lights
Added 2024-05-08 14:48:44 +0000 UTCAt first these solar wall mounting lights with an LED filament bulb looked really stylish. They also had a fairly decent looking solar panel.
Then I dug deeper and discovered some odd circuitry shortcuts that mean that these lights require a little bit of work to make them safer.

Capped at 4.2V and whatever current the solar panel can provide within the 100 to 500mA range.

2024-05-09 21:06:25 +0000 UTCThere's an even easier one based on just two small solar panels and a motor. It goes in the direction of the brightest light and stops when each cell is getting similar light.
