Old project while making a new project
Added 2024-05-16 04:07:37 +0000 UTCA look at an old LED project from 20 years ago, while waiting for a new project to finish printing. (A 3D printed ionic cone.)
The LEDs used in these panels were cheap bulk ones from eBay when they still cost several pounds each in the UK. I get the feeling they were either batches of factory rejects. But hey - they were cheap and fun.

Not that well organised. These ended up in a random drawer in a random cabinet that was just the right size to put a pull handle slot machine on.

2024-05-17 03:00:54 +0000 UTCGreat stuff revisiting these old projects. I remember when blue LEDs were really cool. I bought a single "ultra bright" one from Maplin back in the day. I'm sure it cost me about Β£3. Installed it in my Playstation 1 in place of the factory green LED and I was suddenly the coolest kid in college. Well, in my eyes anyway π
