Unusual circuit for monitoring roller pressure

It's a custom PCB specific to a PCB panel cleaning machine where scotchbrite rollers remove oxides from the copper layer prior to photoresist being applied.

This circuit reminds me of an RF power/SWR meter which has this sort of bridge configuration..

2023-12-19 21:24:59 +0000 UTCAm I getting this right? The 1k pot is factory or service set, and the 5k is day to day - presumably as the brillo wears down. I love the transformer used in reverse. I cannot work out what exactly the board is doing other than comparing one voltage to another; but current also figures given the numbers. I wouldn't like to bet on those transformers surviving a drop - especially not on a single sided board.
