Toys returned by the authorities

For those who don't know, I took these on as hand luggage for safety reasons due to the lithium cells inside, and they were seized as being potential weapons.

Glad they returned them to you. I hope it wasn't too much of a hassle. TSA here in the states? I'm thinking they keep the stuff or toss it but I don't know for sure.

2023-12-24 05:45:09 +0000 UTCCaught between two conflicting regulations: 1) bring Li-Ion batteries on as carry-on items (up to 100WHr or 12 gm Li), and 2) don't carry on anything that could be used as a weapon. Guidance for that overlap is ... lacking.
