USB LIR2032 button cell charger

A very minimalist USB powered charger for the rechargeable version of the 2032 lithium button cells.

The circuitry is as expected, except for one mysterious resistor.  I wonder if it's for stability due to the unusually low charging current.

Anecdotally, I bought some of these off Ali a while back to test in the kithen and bathroom scales. Unbranded single-use 2032 cells last 6-12 months, rechargeables last 1-2 months. But I suppose Ali.. yeah..

Sadly they have a much lower capacity than the non rechargeable ones.

I'd no idea there was a rechargeable version of those. Very neat!

No, some fancy charger doesn't provide power at ALL until they see something on the other end. And yes, this breaks some older/crappier devices that didn't bother following the USB spec - technically the fault is not with charger.

Re the lack of a "programming" resister on the USB C plug, you said, "This won't work with fancy power supplies...". Is that right? Won't it work with fancy supplies, just only receiving 5v. ??
