Weekend stream link is different

Because I can't risk streaming on YouTube because the main channel is currently under strike limitations, I'm going to have to try something different. So I'm going to give Twitch a go.

Keep in mind I'm a twitch noob, so things may not go to plan. I'm also going to be using my phone to stream as usual, and the app doesn't seem to let me do an unlisted stream.

I don't think you need to be registered with twitch to view the stream, but you will need to be registered to interact in chat - probably to avoid spam and "militants" by making them traceable. Registration is usually just validation by a phone text.

Because twitch has been evolving for a while, the amount of options is daunting, so I'll try using it with its defaults. The twitch veterans can advise if I need to disable or enable specific features.

Given the ongoing Karenisation of YouTube it's possible I may just do all my streaming on twitch in future to distance my outspoken moments (and whoofles) from the main channel.

The stream will start at the usual time if it all goes to plan.

YouTube can detect associated channels and strikes apply across all of them. Using another channel to continue making content while on a strike can result in instant deletion of all channels, as recently happened to 3D printing general.

I thought you had a separate channel for the live streams for exactly this reason? No matter.

After watching the live stream, I couldn't find a way to replay the video after the stream had ended. Does Twitch provide a means to view past streams for non-account holders or is a separate link required? Your library of videos is a treasure of electronic education. My husband, who works in IT, warns about trusting any cloud service when it comes to data retention as no cloud service takes full responsibility for your data even when they screw up or worse, when they flex their draconian muscles and lock your data (‘vendor lock-in’). While watching your live stream, he said “Protected data is only the data that you fully control. Convenience and data security are mutually exclusive."

Missed it like everyone else. But I'm 100 percent behind the change. The only thing companies like Google understand is data ... Platinum YouTubers no longer streaming live is bound to ring some bells. Perhaps heads will be extracted from arses in due course. Or not. It doesn't matter. They are pissing people off with the new longer and more frequent adverts. A friend mentioned it to me unprompted last night. It's blackmail of a sort. They can fuck off. I think this will trigger an exodus.

I've been streaming on Twitch for about 2.5 years. I'm happy to help in any way I can! The user interface for streamers is a disaster, but if you can find the "Creator Dashboard" then the Gear Icon, then "Stream" settings, you will find the VOD Settings you can turn on "Store Past Broadcasts" and "Always Publish VODs" so people can catch any stream they missed. They do automatically delete VODs after a certain amount of days, which is dumb, but in the "video producer" it has a handy way to export VODs directly to YouTube, if you want! You'll hit Affiliate super fast since you already have a following, and then you can setup how the ads run on your channel. It's confusing, and Twitch obviously wants to run as many ads as possible. If you'd like to limit the number of ads that interrupt the stream, let me know, and I'll give a step-by-step on how to make it so people only see ads when they first join the stream, then no more after. There's a ton of other fun and interactive ways to use Twitch, but it should also be good for relaxing and simple streams! :) Also, "low latency" mode on Twitch is pretty awesome, as it makes chat delay like 1-2 seconds, max.

Is there a way to watch it now since I've missed it live?

What time does it start?

If you have Amazon Prime you get 1 free sub per month. If Clive starts doing this regularly I will be using it there.
