Novel solar insect trap

I'm undecided whether the blue light in this is actually effective at aiding in luring insects to the beer inside, but it's a visually nice feature.

The high value inductor means it should have a fairly long run time at night.

You do get electronic grade conformal coating lacquer or tropicalised varnish, but most clear lacquers and things like nail varnish will work well. Smearing PCBs with silicone grease or vaseline can also keep moisture away.

That's not an ioniser. It's mainly an ozone generator. They usually have a small ceramic ozone panel with a fan moving air across it. I have a similar unit here, but don't think I made a video about it as I felt I had made too many ozone videos at the time I bought it.

Clive. So I grabbed this negative ion generator, thinking oh a little ozone would be fine too, as in the past ones I've got put out a tiny tiny amount only. But WOW oh boy, this thing pumps out so much ozone it floods the room in a minute, not healthy. Good for disinfecting a room I guess, and my fault/ignorance for buying, though I wonder how it makes so much of it. I got from Amazon, but have linked what looks like same one at AliExpress. Mine: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CNNYFD8F Seems to be this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007000949968.html

Any idea why the battery is disconnected from the circuit and not the light?

Jonas

Is there some specific kind of lacquer that you recommend for making electronics water/weather-resistant?
