Accommodation room tour

It's student accommodation - although it's also used by visiting labour and tourists.
There's a sign in the room that basically says "Manage your expectations - this is not a hotel."

2024-08-31 18:53:37 +0000 UTCThis is an affront to both students and employees, the schools and employers are taking their profit out of our life experience. I stayed in a similar student accomodation when sent to do research in Australia at CSIRO (leading research and engineering institute), except the bathroom and shower was shared. I upgraded at my own cost (especially to get air conditioning, Austrailia can be hot!) and shamed Dartmouth College into paying for it. It is particularly bad to be teaching students that it is ok to treat people poorly (you mentioned silverfish in a previous video). Don't stay with a job just because it's easier to stay, look for something better, you deserve it. Though if you like the people you work with that is a consideration also. Particularly as a professional you should be treated better, insist on it. It should be part of the contract. People are not something to be bulk packaged at the lowest cost. Next thing you know they'll be genetically engineering people to be 4 feet high so they can fit twice as many in the same building site (Genesis lyric reference).
