eBay USB rechargeable aroma atomising unit

When I recently made a video about the surprisingly sophisticated Air Wick Mist ultrasonic aroma atomising unit, I mentioned that the Chinese design would be very minimal in comparison.

Well here it is, and despite being extraordinarily minimal, it still manages to add a built in rechargeable lithium cell. (Which Air Wick probably avoided for cost and liability reasons.)

The one Air Wick feature it doesn't have is the daily timed operation of 8 hours on and 16 hours off.

I've heard of suspending clock movements over a paraffin bath to do a cheap and quick lubrication. This device should be similar.

I'm not sure of a practical workshop application other than one with a very long delay time that occasionally hazed a tool cabinet with a protective oil.

Some seem to use either water or a glycol as the carrier. If you soak a cotton bud in the liquid and then light it, the oil version will burn until the oil is used up. The water/glycol ones will not burn. I've noticed that some of the prominent brands use both with different styles of fragrance.

I do find this kind of gadget interesting - but except from poluting the air, is there an actual alternative use (hobby/workshop) for atomised liquid (oil or waterbased)

Very Artsy looking form. Does any manufacture use water as a carrier for the sent.
