Fizzy wine stream?
Added 2024-10-12 22:51:45 +0000 UTCTwitch has various targets for streaming and I'm just one off the "streams in a month" target. As such, do you think I should do an unadvertised stream the day after the one I did today, but with a bottle of fizzy wine?
Any (technical) subject ideas if you think this is a good idea?

2024-10-13 19:33:21 +0000 UTCFizzy wine stream sounds great, but late on Sunday night less so. Depending on how late it goes, a replay may be in order (I'll just be sure to catch it quick before it gets deleted!)

2024-10-13 15:52:34 +0000 UTCyou could do a deeper dive into the Christmas lighting both George square and home setup. with some of the "best" chinesium lights to avoid, unless you wish to ⚡the passers by outside.

2024-10-13 13:06:05 +0000 UTCI just sent you a couple images in the patrion mesage thing of some transformer arangments I came across while studying for my city and guild exams, could be an interesting discussion topic as one of them seems like total black magic to me (the di phase to tri phase one) I'd be interested to see what you and everyone else think of them. The other one makes more sense but is still interesting, its for starting motors under load more relyably.

2024-10-13 01:35:53 +0000 UTCYes, please! And I've also wondered whether putting a small capacitor, like a 0.01uF across a power supply bypass cap would improve the overall / combined ESR. Looking forward to the stream of fizzy white wine! You're the best, Clive!

2024-10-13 01:24:39 +0000 UTCWith all these engineers including me. I’m sure we could set something up. Doesn’t have to pretty

2024-10-13 00:18:06 +0000 UTCAlthough it doesn't have to be meat based, I'm quite invested in what a slice of vegan bacon does at 240v
Tim Pearson
2024-10-13 00:03:16 +0000 UTCYes, fizzy wine and a selection of cooked meats through the application of high voltage would be perfect Sunday evening viewing
Tim Pearson
2024-10-12 23:58:30 +0000 UTCI don't have twitch yet but for tomorrow (today) evening I will sort it out if necessary. I'm in hospital Monday morning so on Sunday I'm drinking the ultimate clear-out potion, so when I'm not rushing to the bog it will be nice to have a sparkling wine stream to distract me 😊
Simon Arnold
2024-10-12 23:39:47 +0000 UTCYes, also because I'm lazy and have had my head entirely frazzled by the internet and many people making no sense and contradicting themselves but a section on types of capacitors, what they *should* be used for, and what to *definitely not* use them for with maybe added explosive demonstrations in the name of education and safety (possibly with use of explosion containment pie tin with insulation so it won't short things out) would be fabulous

2024-10-12 23:30:45 +0000 UTCI've managed to run a hdmi cable to run it from laptop to telly as for some reason my phone can't see the TV or virgin box from twitch even though it can from you tube. Also have a Chromecast which has worked in the past but I've not got round to battling with resetting it to work with my new router yet

2024-10-12 23:25:32 +0000 UTCSounds like a Plan to me!

2024-10-12 23:24:45 +0000 UTCWell, you might want to avoid getting into the topics of "certain people" as you used to say on the older fizzy streams.
Kathryn Fortunato
2024-10-12 23:23:11 +0000 UTCCan you explain how to install electronics onto the fizzy wine?
Mark Trombley
2024-10-12 23:21:08 +0000 UTCSounds like a plan. Potential things to talk about - Project ideas, good brands of electrical test equipment, hydrogen technology advancement, favourite workwear brand, underrated YouTube channels...

2024-10-12 23:12:19 +0000 UTCCount me in. How about a chat about solar. I wanted to use a regulator just to run some extractor fans for my e-workshop, but commercial solar regulators require a 12v battery to be connected to enable the output. I didn't want to do this, and in the end just ran the fans directly from the panel via a couple of 1n4007's. Is there a simple way to fool the regulator into "thinking" that there is a 12v battery connected?
TopEndSpoonie
2024-10-12 23:07:27 +0000 UTCFizzy moonshine! Also: how about a deep dive on an ozonator? I got naked components on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/375594481243) but they also make consumer and commercial units. Since you're the high voltage guru, thought you might enjoy it - I'm using it on grapeseed oil, but that will take *weeks* before completion.

2024-10-12 23:03:26 +0000 UTCI guess you know you can get the twitch app on most smart TV's or anything android based like a fire stick. It's not as easy to use as YouTube but I put up with it to watch Clive. 👍
