Industrial grade steriliser

I couldn't resist this eBay find. It's an air sterilising unit made for heavy industrial use.

It doesn't bang out ozone like the shady little units sold online, but instead puts out a low amount with a strong airflow. It seems to be aimed at industries like food storage and processing.

The construction is simple with no significant electronics.

Or it's for Chinese industry...

There is no way that would have been allowed in an industrial environment. I would suggest it's a homemade project. Very amateurish build.

The box alone would cost a lot here. Technically speaking it could be repurposed with the items already fitted to it.

Ouch.

Who do we want to industriously sterilize?

Curtis Hoffmann

Nice simple construction , The cost of the box by it self in the U.S. would very expensive but would make a great outdoor project box.

They generally seem to aim for a level equivalent to natural outdoor air. In an indoor environment the natural ozone and other active airborne molecules are rapidly depleted. Some units do seem to have electrostatic sensing circuitry. I'm not sure if that's being used to gauge the active molecules being generated.

Given ozone use is so popular in Japan, are there scientific metrics for effectiveness in various environments? Are control systems ever used?

Such a lovely monster! Great find and great video!

It could certainly break a toe or worse

Dennis

The Philips CPAP recall was a result of ozone cleaners degrading the internal foam causing its inhalation. Perhaps this was the same problem.

RonNona

It's definitely jumped the video queue. Mainly because I keep tripping over it.

Big Clive

Was waiting for this bad boy when you showed it on the Livestream
