Magnetically switched lights.

This video is probably most useful as a demo of how these little Hall effect sensors can be used to allow switching of a module that is inside an enclosure.

I'm in Glasgow at the moment, so haven't been making much content - this is one of a few reserve videos I made before travelling.

I think that situation has reversed now, although reed switches still have their place.

When I last looked at Hall Effect ICs some 20 years ago they were still very expensive. People would fit reed switches instead.

We need brighter and larger stuff for the Tattoo because of the scale of the arena and show lighting levels.

Those could be great fun in costumes for things like the Tattoo, and give the fact that the microcontroller could be programmed by the manufacturer, they could reduce the latency current surely? Just a thought.
