The little phone-torch is very complex inside
Added 2025-09-27 01:06:41 +0000 UTCI was expecting very little inside this unit. Maybe just the USB-C enabling resistors and a dedicated flashlight chip. But in reality the circuitry is very weird and uses standard components and a very random chip.

I'm a time-traveller from the future.. In two weeks you'll release a video on a USB phone battery rejuvinator with uniquely simple circuitry that would suit this product perfectly. It doesn't need an on-off switch..

2025-10-05 17:37:31 +0000 UTCThis does potentially have the advantage of a more focussed beam for longer throw. It may also be better suited to placing your phone on a surface to aim it, while also reducing the battery usage compared to the onboard flash LED.
