205 With the Justice System

"Splaaash—"

The submarine broke through the surface, and the Polar Tang rose steadily from the sea.

The hatch opened, and a man wearing a spotted hat and carrying a long sword was the first to step out.

Law led his crew as they disembarked onto a desolate, uninhabited island.

"Whoosh—"

The moment their feet touched the sand, three figures appeared beneath the distant coconut trees.

"..."

Law froze in his tracks.

He looked up—and his pupils shrank violently.

The three figures were all dressed in casual clothes, looking like a trio of old men enjoying a seaside vacation.

But Law's back was instantly drenched in cold sweat.

Garp, Sengoku, Zephyr...

Three living legends of the old Marine era—why were they here together?!

So it really was a trap to lure him in?!

But this lineup... wasn't it way too extravagant?!

Any one of these men could crush his crew into dust. Why go to such lengths?

"Trafalgar Law."

Sengoku was the first to speak.

"User of the Op-Op Fruit. Born in the North Blue, from the 'White City' of Flevance."

"You were once a member of the Donquixote Family."

"..."

With every word Sengoku said, Law's expression grew heavier.

"Coincidentally," Sengoku continued, his tone softening, "I once had a kind-hearted adopted son..."

A faint sorrow and nostalgia seeped into his voice.

"His name was Donquixote Rosinante."

"!!!"

"..."

Law's pupils contracted again.

In that instant, all sounds disappeared—the crash of the waves, the whisper of the wind—gone.

All that remained in his world was Sengoku's grief-stricken face, and that name that made his heart stop.

Corazon-san...

He was...

The adopted son of the former Fleet Admiral—"Buddha" Sengoku?!

"Law," Sengoku said solemnly, "I've already uncovered everything that happened back then."

"The child Rosinante gave his life to save... was you."

"..."

"Corazon-san..."

Law's voice trembled uncontrollably for the first time.

"He... was truly your adopted son?"

"Yes."

Sengoku sat down on a clean piece of reef and nodded slowly.

"Thirty-one years ago, I found him during a mission."

"I thought he had no family, so I brought him back to the Marines."

"Later, I learned that he was Donquixote Doflamingo's younger brother."

"The Marines needed someone who could infiltrate the Donquixote Family, and he volunteered..."

"When we exchanged information, his code name was 'Little Corn', and mine was 'Big Senbei'..."

"..."

Law fell completely silent.

These details—things only Corazon-san and his Marine superior could possibly know—made the truth undeniable.

He loosened his grip on Kikoku, his cursed blade, though his heart was roaring like a storm.

All this time, he had hated the Marines—the very symbol of the world government he wished to destroy.

Yet the man he loved and respected most, the one who had given him a second chance at life... was a Marine.

And not just any Marine—Sengoku's adopted son.

"..."

Sengoku looked at Law with a complex expression.

The Marines were changing. A new era was rising.

The kind of justice once bound by rigid rules... now finally had a way to be unleashed.

"Law," Sengoku said, pulling him out of his thoughts, "I came here today to invite you to join the Marines."

"If you're willing, I'll assign you Rosinante's old number—01746."

"You can inherit his will and carry on the justice he died for."

"..."

Law's heart gave a painful jolt.

Join the Marines?

Inherit Corazon-san's number?!

He had never even imagined such a thing.

He was a pirate. A doctor. A man driven by vengeance.

Yet to inherit the will of the man who had given him life and protected him with his own—what greater honor could there be?

But...

He still had Doflamingo to kill.

That man—a Shichibukai, king of Dressrosa—was under the world government's protection.

Would the Marines ever allow him to take his revenge?

Law's mind twisted in turmoil.

"Law, you want revenge on Doflamingo, don't you?"

Sengoku's voice cut straight through his heart.

"The traitor who exposed Rosinante's identity—the Marine officer Vergo—has already been imprisoned in Impel Down."

"He's now in Eternal Hell, suffering through endless cold and isolation."

Sengoku's voice turned cold and merciless.

"Join the Marines, and stand with me as we make him pay for his crimes."

"Doflamingo and every officer of the Donquixote Family will soon be personally captured by my own hand!"

"The Marines have already severed ties with the World Government. You need not fear their interference."

"As for your Heart Pirates..."

Sengoku glanced at the tense crew behind Law.

"They can be integrated into the Marine Medical Division as special recruits—with excellent benefits."

"..."

Sengoku's words slammed into Law's heart, shattering every trace of hesitation.

Vergo... captured?

Doflamingo... to be purged?

It all came so suddenly, yet felt so inevitable.

He had seen the broadcast of the Summit War.

The sheer force of the Marines, their determination to challenge even the Yonko... all pointed to a new age.

"Law..."

Sengoku's tone softened as he gazed at the silent man before him.

"Rosinante gave his life to grant you freedom—not so you would live bound by hatred, trapped in darkness."

"He wanted to see you walk in the sunlight, carrying on his will... to protect others who've been broken by fate."

"Come, my boy."

Sengoku rose to his feet and extended his hand.

"The Marines need you."

"This world... needs you."

"..."

Law slowly lifted his head, gazing at the former Fleet Admiral before him—at Corazon-san's foster father.

In the sunlight, he could almost see Corazon-san's goofy, smiling face.

"Corazon-san..."

Law drew in a deep breath.

The hand gripping Kikoku finally loosened completely.

"I..."

He looked at Sengoku's outstretched hand and reached for it with solemn resolve.

"Sengoku-san, I'm willing to inherit Corazon-san's will!"
