Ladies and gentlemen,
the last step in the development of the "vertical" sailwings is thinking about how to attach (and optionally remove) the sails from the ship hull.
In addition to the obvious "just glue it on" I want to provide some ways to have the sails come off after play for better storage.
One very easy solution is to use traditional paper clips. I am providing spacer "triangle" shaped parts so the sails can extend from the hull in a certain angle and these can comfortably be attached to the hull with such a paper clip.
In this closeup you can see how the sails have been attached with paper clips. I had some bare metal ones around but one could try to use plastic covered ones in a camouflage color to hide it better.

And here the Sloop hull from my Pirate Fleet Builder series with the junk and fan side sailwings attached in full glory :)
For a pure paper solution - as seen in the post pics - I will provide some templates to add a little functionality to slot in and remove the sail wings again.
For larger and heavier sails such as these junk sails on a "weaker" hull side (here the Longship prototype build) I have used some thread to tie the sails together on the top, so their weight does not bend the hull outside.

With the Airship Addon sets you might need to cross into the realm of kitbashing or coming up with some creative solutions to make it all work. Another solution to the challenge in the image above would be to strengthen the hull sides so the weight of the sails is not able to deform the hull.
I am preparing the final steps and hoping to get to make the instructions very soon so I can release the next set in this series!
Until then, stay safe, have fun and keep building!
Chris
