Ladies and gentlemen,
I have started prototyping on the third Airship addons set. This time it will be all about propellers, turbines and if I can pull it off even a bonus zeppelin. Depending on how it goes with the last and on the complexity of the propeller items the zeppelins might also be a fourth extra set.
For the propellers and turbines I am going for a set of basic parts/shapes that you will be able to combine into different assemblies and then attach to your ships hull.
Here I am starting with a basic propeller unit made out of an base body, the propeller part and a little top to round it off. Alternatives will be a base body with a smaller top part and then a propeller and also as seen in many airship concept art a ring shapes unit where the propeller is within. All of these should be able to go onto the hull in a vertical or horizontal layout so working on the attachments will be fun :)
Here's a little reminder of the sketches I have done when I started. So this is what I am going to cover in this set of the series.

I am settling in OK into my new part time job and the beginning stress is petering out and I am starting to become more relaxed and thus have more time for my other job here :) Starting something new is always exciting but also a little stressful but I am happy I have this increase of financial stability for the work I love here!
I have received a new book in a series on architecture about "High Gothic Age" (Hochgothik) which I am very happy about. I will study it over the christmas vacation as I plan to make more stuff in this look and setting. The other two books I already had and they helped me much in my (existing and upcoming) Grenzwacht designs and also I have a strong desire for quite a while now to work on chaples, churches and chathedrals. It will take some time as I have to figure out the basic blocks so it will all work in combination too. But this is something I am looking forward to in the time after the airships! So castles and churches might be the motto of next year!

In the meantime with christmas break coming up I am taking it slow and will enjoy toying ideas about the propellers in my head and work out how to get them into something buildable! And then I am really looking forward to a little christmas break to just do nothing but eat, sleep and have some fun time at home for a change with the appartment finally fixed after this nightmare summer (remember the water damage problems we had!).
I will check in before the break to let you know how far I have come, so until the next time - as always - stay safe, keep building!
Chris
