Ladies and gentlemen,
here's a first look at all the textured components I have done so far for the upcoming airship addon. Basically there are two sizes (small and large) and two slant angles and two heights or depths for the wall segments. You can pick and choose and combine these any way you want and mix 'em up with the propellers, cog wheel separators and the cover cones.
If I come up with more elements I will add them as updates or in later addons for more variety. But for now I think I got all I wanted. Here's a look at a combine-everything turbine assembly.

All of these parts are holding by friction on a BBQ-stick. I have cut out the center holes a tad smaller than the stick so I can add and remove any component without glue! This works well and allows for later reconfiguration for different turbines for other airships. Might leave the bottom end of the BBQ-stick extending towards the ground as it helps stabilize the final configuration and also holds the extending turbines at the right height without sagging.
I have already prepare the ground parts for the 2D plane that will hold it all together for the Brig hull. Imagine 4 of the turbines assembled around the ship here :) Of course you can create such a core plane for any ship hull, I will just prepare special parts for the Brig and the Sloop from my Pirate Fleet Builder series for convenience.

Now it's time to make 4 turbines and see how it will look! Really excited about this :)
As for new basic bits ... I will start with the split crates and then do some split barrels for floating/sunk/dug in versions of these as it was requested. Obviously I want to make some airship themed ones too. Maybe some steam (or magic) engine contraptions? Or some larger telescope to see enemies from a distance? Or some bolt throwers? Let me know if you have any preferences for this setting!
That's it for this week. I am looking forward to the next time when I will hopefully have a 3D airship with the vertical uplift turbines! Until next time, stay safe and keep building!!!
