Airship addons #3 WIP

Ladies and gentlemen,

today I am happy to show you some pretty pics of the current stage of development of this airship addons set. I have started creating two promo builds. One with the preconfigured core templates for the Sloop and one with the same for the Brig from my Pirate Fleet Builder series.

On the Sloop build I have sketched the missing "horizontal" forward propelling engines in blue. I want those to be attached via hanging them over the railing hopefully for easy assembly/disassembly.

So while the pics show models that look quite complete I have to add more before I can release it. I have already got the main two vertical turbines segment files done with loads of color and weathering options. Next I will go over the propeller and caps file and also check the core template files. There will be the large and small core attachment segments that can be used to kit-bash a core template for any existing hull and then I will have two preconfigured ones for the Sloop and the Brig.

Also missing are higher stands for these larger ship types. For now I will go with the BBQ stick approach to adding the turbine segments to the core. It works very well for me. I might also add some locking parts you can custom built for an alternative way of assembling the segments into your turbine/engine of choice.

One thing I want to add also are some reinforcements under the core "wings" so they will be secured against sag over time. The BBQ sticks help with that too but maybe someone doesn't want to have the sticks extending to the ground.

So as you can see there is quite a lot to do before I will do the start of the rolling release. I will add the smaller "horizontal" forward propelling engine parts later as an upgrade as they will take me at least another month and I know that quite a few guys are already wanting to start to build this baby :)

For the "split" basic bits this month I will tackle a different box shape and go to the barrels next month. That should give a nice set of bits to assemble floating/buried stuff on your table!
