It’s true, and it explains a lot. Sometimes, it's not the entire film but a specific scene. For example, in the third season of Twin Peaks, I was fascinated by “Monica Belucci dream,” although it didn't have the same effect on many others I know. I also think that the same happens with video games, especially those that are multiple-choice and, at the same time, have complex and open-for-interpretation storylines.
