Trail Thoughts ✦ December 2021

Let's look at this past month, yeah?
December Stats:
- # of Streams: 6
- Avg Viewers, incl. Hosts & Raids: 48
- Avg Viewers, excl. Hosts & Raids: 38 - the highest it was this entire year!
- Unique Viewers: 1,221
- Unique Chatters: 228
- Chat Messages: 8,705 (avg 1,450 per stream)
- New Followers: approx. 36 (avg 6 per stream) - not exactly sure thanks to being follow-botted in last night's stream!
- Subscriptions: 115 (avg 19 per stream) - skewed high this month because of some very generous folks in last night's stream!
December Thoughts
I ended up cancelling more streams this month than I wanted to, but it was badly needed (in hindsight). Despite that, this month saw us continue through Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I also started my first playthrough of Beyond: Two Souls on December 10th and I will be finishing that in January. I took a long break between Dec 15-Dec 30 and completed the month and the end of the year with my first 12 hour stream! Last night's stream was honestly so amazing. I had a blast chilling out with everyone and it was fun to bounce around between a bunch of different games.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was one of the highest months I've ever had in my streaming journey. To compare, I hit a 48 average in November 2020 and the partner average was a whole 5 less viewers than this month. Despite the ups and downs and ebbs and flows of Twitch viewership, I'm glad that I am still trending upward overall, and I hope to continue that into 2022. I don't have any viewership or follower goals, because I don't like defining my success by numbers that are largely out of my control, but the goal is "I want my trend line to keep going upwards." and I think that's a fine goal to set.
Thoughts for January (and beyond!)
January is going to be exciting! Not only am I upgrading, but I'm going to be making my office space feel better, in general. I really want to make this space a space that I love and am proud of. It's one of my top goals for this year. Trail patrons and higher have already seen the previous post of an exciting "what's coming" that is part of making that happen. I can't wait to have everything ready to go. I'll be sharing more in the coming days!
