Anakin is the chosen one. He is because George say so, and it's his story, basically. So I won't dispute the deliberate over simplicity of that idea. Redemption through one final good act, after countless crimes. Including, the slaughter of children. Nope, not for me, sorry I'll pass on that one. Elements of this film tainted Episode VI for me. If it were me. I'd have chosen a different path. Obi-Wan wasn't opposed to manipulating Luke over Vader. "Many truths that we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view." What if the prequels had revealed a darker past for Obi-Wan. In that he had been the one tricked into fighting Anakin and ultimately putting him in the suit. Anakin, then enslaved to the growing empire. Physically and emotionally corrupted by the betrayal of his surrogate brother. Fashioned into a hateful weapon to conquer the galaxy. In the return of the Jedi, he finally finds the strength to kill his oppressor. As an intricate story device, I don't particularly jive with what they went with myself. My thoughts and feelings were solely for those that he betrayed and murdered. On the basis of one seen, or several undisclosed nightmares. The death he set out to prevent was the one he caused. The irony is surely not lost on anyone. I will credit the heavy foreshadowing though. Anakin ignored his very first lesson from the badass legend that is Yoda. "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." I appreciate the idea of surrendering to fear as the basic motivator that drives him down the dark path. I just feel that there were potentially several ways that could have been told. As a classic Greek tragedy, Anakin is kinda close to a perfect failure. If not for the fact. That to me, he often comes off as bit of a whiny little brat at times. That's not to say that a lot of the choices that they made in this finale to this trilogy, weren't very welcome and highly entertaining. All of which do make this the best of the three, by quite a significant margin.

Well, this made my morning! Enjoyed every minute spending it with you watching Episode III yet again. I’ve been around since SW fired my imagination in ‘77 as a 9 year old. Actually, before that I begged my mom to buy the curious looking paperback I saw on the grocery rack. The visage of Darth Vader & C-3PO was all it took! All of us in the neighborhood played SW outside till the street lights came on. I was super into the SW figures for years and it was the first place in Kmart I would check out. Good memories. I wish I still had those, uhg!! This was fun…⭐️
