a few thoughts on the Amphi Meet & Greet
Added 2023-07-06 14:45:01 +0000 UTCI don't know if you saw it on my social channels, but I'm doing a Meet and Greet at the Amphi Festival in Cologne. They released the time table for the signing sessions today (along with the running order) and here it is again: My name next to some really big and well known Goth scene bands. I'm always feeling a mixture between happy and "embarrassed" when I see this. No, not really embarrassed but imposter syndrome is kicking in and I have the urge to explain myself. π "It wasn't my idea" I'm always saying to friends. Because why would someone random like me, not a musician, be entitled to do a Meet & Greet at one of the biggest German Goth Festivals?! There have been some "who is she even"-type of comments on the Amphi channels too, which are aiming for the same. I'm not famous, I'm not a band.
But still, I'm advocating the Goth scene and I guess my reach is higher then that of some of the bands who are playing there. And the Goth scene needs all the help and reach it can get, because it's going old. I have an ongoing cooperation with the Amphi festival for several years by now. If they offer and propose something like this, you don't say "no", haha. M'era Luna (another German Goth festival) for example is working together with a lot of influencers and they always do signing sessions with them as well. So why not. I do feel honoured to have been asked to do it. Now let's just hope that at least a few people will show up and it's not going to be a total failure and really embarrassing. π I already said to all my friends who are attending the festival anyway, that they need to stop by. π But the festival will be fun for sure.

There might be some people who don't know you yet, but they will get to know you - otherwise they have missed someone really important. You are some kind of beacon (the "e" in this word seems important, but I know, make a mistake and everyone will have a good laugh at your expense) for the whole scene - keep up your work of spreading it throughout the world.
