Thank you! So sad about Aayla and Bly.

Hey, Kaiielle! JEDI CRASH: The battle in the clouds makes for some gorgeous visuals and a nice change of pace from space battles. Anakin's ragged breathing with the oxygen mask is a little Vader foreshadowing. Aayla Secura is one of the Jedi whose death is featured in "Revenge of the Sith". Veteran voice actress Jennifer Hale provides Aayla's voice using a French accent. In the non-canon Expanded Universe which was rendered obsolete after the Disney buy-out, Aayla was a fan favorite because she was a hot Twi'lek and because her Master was Quinlan Vos. Quinlan Vos was a hugely popular Jedi character whose undercover missions cause him to flirt dangerously with the Dark Side in some very exciting comics. His journey paralleled Anakin's in many ways but with more nuance and gritty realism. At the time, many readers felt that Vos' journey was what Anakin's should have been on film. Quinlan Vos appeared briefly on film in "The Phantom Menace" as a spectator at the pod race and does exist in the animated Filoni-verse but in a significantly diluted form. In this episode, Aayla mentions an unnamed Master she lost but it isn't Quinlan Vos. The accents of the lemur-like Lurmens are more Scottish burr than Irish brogue. DEFENDERS OF PEACE: George Takei, who played Helmsman Sulu in the original series "Star Trek" of the 1960s, provided the voice of the fat Neimoidian, Lok Durd. Lok Durd is the same species as Nute Gunray. Commander Bly, Aayla's right-hand clone, was saved from the Defoliator firestorm when she swung in to get him clear. When executing Order 66, he blasts her in the back!

Perfect, thanks. And no, that's great!

You mentioned not knowing how to pronounce Twi’lek and either way works. Obi Wan pronounces it both ways in the same episode in the Ryloth Trilogy I think 😅(sorry if that was too spoilery)

Justin

Yes, I'm really loving that!

kaiielle

This was for sure the first time we're introduced to this species, as well as yes Aayla was one of the jedi shown in the Order 66 montage! TCW has a great way of showing jedi seen in other parts of the series and giving them some much needed depth.

So pretty!

kaiielle

Yes, I agree. The Ryloth arc is one of the best, in my opinion.

The opening scene from episode 1x13 is so exciting. I love that battle in a beautiful blue sky instead of space.
