Hey, Kaiielle! The write-ups for the other three episodes are above. LEGACY OF TERROR: This whole episode is an homage to James Cameron's "Aliens" with the ribbed corridors, walls coming to life, the elongated shape of the drones' heads, larval parasites, egg-laying ovipositor and elaborate head carapace for the Queen. I really felt bad for that lone battle droid lost to the sandstorm. I like it when Anakin tells Obi-Wan to "study the bottom of my boot" to engage in further worm research! BRAIN INVADERS: This whole episode is an homage to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", both the 1956 Don Siegel and 1978 Philip Kaufman versions. Obi-Wan's going to have plenty of worms to study now! As you stated, the clones' turn provides an early taste of Order 66. Sergeant Slick, the treacherous clone in the employ of Asajj Ventress from "Hidden Enemy" (Season 1, Episode 16), gets name-dropped! You can see Kaminoan doctor Nala Se aboard the medical station with Nautolan Master Kit Fisto. She was last seen in "Shadow of Malevolence" (Season 1, Episode 3) refusing to abandon her clone patients and he was last seen in the Jedi Library in "Holocron Heist" (Season 2, Episode 1). When it comes to the welfare of those he cares for, Anakin has no compunctions about crossing boundaries with the Force! Not only does he Force-choke Poggle but he slugs him the old-fashioned way! Ahsoka and Barriss' dinner conversation about the role of the Jedi reverberates throughout this series with many characters arriving at numerous conclusions including the two young Padawans. It is the underlying theme of the whole show. Ahsoka makes a compassionate decision to spare the infected Barriss despite her pleas to be killed. It's the kind of decision Anakin would make. I sure hope there are no lingering side effects of having a worm slithering around one's brainstem! Yeech!

Very true, just hard for me to get used to.

kaiielle

Damn, honestly tho.

kaiielle

The voice actor that voices all of the clones also voiced the geonosian queen. That man didn't get paid enough

Luminara is following the jedi teachings of not having attachments. Obviously her just instantly giving up on her padawan's life isn't great, but the idea behind it is what ultimately turns Anakin into Vader. He couldn't accept the fact that Padme would die, and his response was to just find more power to let her live. How the jedi handle attachment, compassion, and empathy is a fascinating part of the show, as well as a bunch of other Star Wars media

Andrew Sitek

Those are the 2D ones, right? Not planned, as 2D is not totally my jam. Maybe down the road after the other shows are done and I'm getting another Star Wars itch. 😊

Random question, do you plan on watching the two 2003 clone wars specials? As a whole they are not cannon any more, but still fun to watch.

Hey, Kaiielle! This quintet of episodes is the longest arc in the entire series! SENATE SPY: This episode is a real departure from everything that's come before and sets the tone for the more politically-oriented plots involving Padme. The tragedy of the Clone Wars is that the grievances of the Separatists are legitimate. The Republic's governance is a corrupt body excessively influenced by special interest groups and cronyism headed by a Sith Lord, Palpatine, who exploits those weaknesses. That means the Jedi are serving a compromised institution at complete variance with their ideals. The problem with the Separatist alternative is that their body politic is led by another Sith Lord, Dooku, who is truthfully exposing the foibles of the Republic while concealing his own double-dealing with the same special interest groups and collusion with his Sith Master. The introduction of Banking Clan Senator RUSH CLOVIS, a truly intriguing and multi-layered character. Anakin is put into such a bind having to convince Padme to cozy up to Rush while being insanely jealous of their prior intimacy. Obi-Wan takes notice. POGGLE THE LESSER is the same Geonosian leader from the movie "Attack of the Clones". Neimoidian Senator LOT DOD was last seen trying to obstruct Toydarian relief to Ryloth in "Supply Lines" and was seen in live-action in "Phantom Menace" arguing for the blockade of Naboo. His name is a combination of Republican Senator Trent Lott of Mississippi and Democratic Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut. Despite Rush's treachery, he did genuinely care for Padme and upheld his end of the bargain. I felt Anakin gave him a really raw deal. Anthony Daniels, as always, provides the voice of C-3PO. LANDING AT POINT RAIN: This is probably the best war episode so far and is an early achievement for the series. It really captures the chaos of battle well. The introduction of Cerean Master KI-ADI-MUNDI who has appeared in live-action for every Council sequence of the Prequel Trilogy and whose death at the hands of his troops is shown in "Revenge of the Sith". Mundi was one of the few Jedi permitted to marry because of the Cerean species' low birth-rate for males which requires polygamous unions. Mundi himself had five wives! Obi-Wan refers to the Geonosis arena sequence from "Attack of the Clones" because the planet in this arc is the same. The painting on the nose of Obi-Wan's gunship is that of a NEXU, the feline creature that clawed Padme in the arena in "Attack of the Clones". The Geonosian troops fire sonic weapons with green energy bursts calibrated to frequencies that liquefy the organs and shatter the bones of their targets. The two clones who pull Obi-Wan from the gunship wreckage are WAXER and BOIL, the clones who befriended little NUMA on Ryloth. Waxer, in fact, has decorated the right side of his helmet with a painting of Numa's head! Ahsoka learns a lesson in detachment from concern over Obi-Wan to focus on her present circumstances as the best way to render aid. Rex's comment in "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" about many of Anakin's plans involving falling is a direct reference to the "Duel of the Droids" group dive to the floating Separatist listening post and to this episode's group leap from the walled fortification as it blew. This means the Geonosis Quintet is supposed to occur before the Zillo Beast Duology. This is yet another example of a discrepancy in the official chronology one must overlook when following it. WEAPONS FACTORY: The Mirialan duo of Master LUMINARA UNDULI and Padawan BARRISS OFFEE were seen in live-action in the Prequel trilogy. Both were in the arena battle on Geonosis in "Attack of the Clones" and Luminara commanded the Wookiees of Kashyyyk in "Revenge of the Sith". You last saw Luminara Unduli when she and Ahsoka were transporting the captive Nute Gunray in Season 1's "Cloak of Darkness". She is voiced by Olivia D'Abo of "The Wonder Years" and "Conan the Destroyer". The introduction of Barriss Offee into the show. She is voiced by Meredith Salenger of "The Journey of Natty Gann" and "April Morning". I like the complementary relationship between the two Padawans; Barriss is soft-spoken and disciplined whereas Ahsoka is outspoken and improvisational. The contrast between Anakin and Luminara is stark in this episode as is the influence they've had on their pupils. It's hysterical how Anakin steamrolls over Ahsoka during her briefing instead of ceding the floor to her whereas Luminara entrusts Barriss with critical responsibilities. I love how Barriss curtsies so demurely and Anakin looks exasperatedly at the griping Ahsoka chagrined by her lack of formal deportment. It's also amusing that other Jedi are aware of the unconventional relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka. The two Padawans bond over electing to face near-certain death together. I like it when they clasp hands in the supertank. Anakin was fearful when Ahsoka was assigned the part of the plan that cut her off from support and relentless in his effort to rescue her. Yoda stated in the Clone Wars movie that he was assigned a Padawan specifically to learn about parting ways since attachment issues plague him. Despite her aloofness and rigidity, Luminara makes a good point: can Anakin let go if he had to? In his role as Master, one day he must.

Love this ARC! The Clovis episode was advised not as a part of this Arc when it aired on Cartoon Network I believe. Like ads would say “tune in for this 4 episode adventure!”Clovis definitely has a heart but is also SUPER GREEDY, I think that he is blinded by the money as to why he sided with Senator Lot Dod and Poggle. Landing a Point Rain is just such a Great War Episode, SO much action! Love seeing Barriss and Ahsoka meet and Bond. The Zombie Geonosians were TERRIFYING as a 9 year old. And as to it not feeling like Star Wars, I think it does, just a new type of Star Wars. Clone Wars does a LOT with adding new and different lore and “rules” to the SW universe, and Zombies is now one of them🧟. I’m glad you remembered Waxer and Boil, and if you look closely Waxer (maybe Boil) has some Art of Numa on his Helmet in “Landing at a Point Rain”. The nuances between compassion, attachment, love, and loss are really interesting and are one of those big SW Questions that I still struggle to think through sometimes wishing these Shows/Movies and real life. Oh and Bariss and Lumanara are both in Episode 2 Attack of the Clones, so this is thier second time on Geonosis.

Justin

Oh no! 😭🤣

kaiielle

As you started complaining about the Geonosians being bugs, I felt a slight movement on my leg under my blanket, and when I pressed on it I felt the dreaded crunch, of a nice bug on my thigh, so that was lovely. I'm gonna blame you for manifesting that :(((

Khan Battle

No, I think you’re right, first choke

Absher

Brain Invaders- A much better episode imo. That’s not the first Anakin/Vader choke. I thought we saw him do it a few arcs ago. I can’t remember but I think I commented about it. I’ll go back and look. But definitely the most aggressive we’ve seen him so far.

Absher

Legacy of Terror- I agree with you that it didn’t really feel like SW. I was struggling to find anything in that episode that I liked. Even Obi Wan wasn’t his self. Not sure what was going on there. Not every episode is great and that won’t be the last stinker. Lucky there are so many great episodes that make this show worth it!

Absher

Episode 6 - gives a good example of one of the flawed philosophies of the Jedi. Luminara is clearly okay with letting Barriss go and the look Anakin gave her said it all. Barriss Offee 🤔

Absher

I’m going to comment after each episode so I don’t forget anything. First off that coffee looks so good, I thought I could smell it for a second. Not much to say after the the first episode except that yes, Anakin is more mature in the Clone Wars animated series than any of the prequels and I prefer it over Hayden’s Anakin. Before everyone jumps all over me for that statement, I’m not saying I didn’t like Hayden, I just like Anakin’s character better in Clone Wars. His character is way more flushed out. You would never know just by watching the prequels how much responsibility he had.
