Yeah, I wish Disney could re-order the episodes in the chronological order as an option for people!

kaiielle

This makes much more sense in chronological order haha. I was soooo confused the first time I watched this show because Uncle Ono dies in season 2 then is alive in season 3 and I didn't know there was time jumping involved until a lot later.

Keeley Thurman

Right? I thought it was very strange that when watching in the order on Disney+, you would end up seeing the end first. Glad there is the proper chronological order!

kaiielle

Fun to get back into this with you Kaiielle. I like the political episodes as much as any of them. Interesting how this arc starts in season 3 and ends in season 2.

Absher

Thank you!

Hey, Kaiielle! HEROES ON BOTH SIDES: Good Ahsoka growth episode including bonding time with Padme. She even gets a new outfit. Despite being married to a Senator, Anakin's take on politics is quite basic and unsophisticated. Of course, he's been on a steady diet of Jedi platitudes and Palpatine propaganda. His outfit changes from this point on to look like it does in "Revenge of the Sith". Eye-opening perspective on the Separatist movement. The Senators who seceded believe in their cause and have legitimate grievance. Their claims of a Republic corrupted by the undue influence of corporate interests, financial institutions and guilds like the Trade Federation, Banking Clan and Techno-Union are proven true by the back-room dealing we witness between Lott Dod, Nix Card and Gume Saam. Nevertheless, Onderonian Senator Mina Bonteri is willing to muster support for peace talks and succeeds! It's interesting to note that the Separatist Senator who opposes peace negotiation is a Representative of a corporate interest herself, the Corporate Alliance. The special interest groups influence both sides with Dooku manipulating the Separatist body politic as much as Palpatine was orchestrating the Republic Senate! We are shown the Separatist capital world of RAXUS. The introduction of the Bonteri family of ONDERON: MINA BONTERI and son, LUX BONTERI. Returning Senators include: -- BAIL ORGANA of Alderaan -- MON MOTHMA of Chandrila -- PADME AMIDALA of Naboo -- ORN FREE TAA of Ryloth (corpulent Twi'lek) -- ONOCANDA FARR of Rodia (Uncle Ono) -- LOTT DOD of the Trade Federation (Neimoidian) -- STONK of Ithor (Hammerhead) -- DANTUM ROOHD (human male with square mitre hat) -- ZINN PAULNESS (bearded human male) The introduction of new Senators including: -- MOT-NOT RAB of Tarn (shaggy, bison-like head, a Tarnab) -- GUME SAAM of the Techno-Union (beak and eye-stalks, an Ishi Tib) -- NIX CARD of Muunilinst (tall, slender narrow head, a Muun) -- HALLE BURTONI of Kamino (elderly, long-necked female, a Kaminoan) Both Mot-Not Rab and Gume Saam were seen in live-action as background players in the Prequel Trilogy. Dooku's ploy is a classic FALSE FLAG attack to incite panic! Padme confides her ally's identity to the worst possible person: Palpatine! PURSUIT OF PEACE: This is the best of the political episodes! Taking a page from Frank Capra's "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", the power of a lone voice defeats cynicism, thuggery and duplicity. A rare defeat for Palpatine. Poor MINA BONTERI! Dooku was definitely told about her role in the peace talks by Palpatine after Padme confided in him. That leaves LUX an orphan! The introduction of TECKLA MINNAU, the handmaiden whose plight inspires Padme's speech. The introduction of MAK PLAIN, the Muun with the head circlet who serves as representative of the Banking Clan on Coruscant. The deregulation bill enabled the Clan to hike interest rates from 10 to 25%!!! That's scarier than the Sith! ROBONINO, the fish-like Patrolian bounty hunter, returns after appearing in "Hostage Crisis" (Season 1, Episode 22) as part of Cad Bane's gang. The other bounty hunter who is dragged behind the speeder Padme steals is from a species called Selkath. The Senators take a beating in this episode! Uncle Ono is accosted in MONUMENT PLAZA where Obi-Wan and Satine met in secret in "Duchess of Mandalore" (Season 2, Episode 14). The peak of UMATE, Coruscant's equivalent of Everest, is the centerpiece of the plaza and the only exposed natural formation left on the entire planet! Returning Senators include: -- BAIL ORGANA of Alderaan -- MON MOTHMA of Chandrila -- PADME AMIDALA of Naboo -- ORN FREE TAA of Ryloth (corpulent Twi'lek) -- ONOCANDA FARR of Rodia (Uncle Ono) -- RIYO CHUCHI of Pantora (blue-skinned female) -- AANG of Roona (creased oval head with big eyes, a Roonan) -- STONK of Ithor (Hammerhead) -- MOT-NOT RAB of Tarn (shaggy, bison-like head, a Tarnab) -- HALLE BURTONI of Kamino (elderly, long-necked female, a Kaminoan) -- DANTUM ROOHD (human male with square mitre hat) -- ZINN PAULNESS (bearded human male) The introduction of new Senators including: -- CHRISTO of Mon Cala (squid-head, a Quarren) -- MEE DEECHI of Umbara (pale man) It's important to note in the closing scene that MAS AMEDDA, the Republic Speaker and future Imperial Vizier, is a full confederate of Palpatine's schemes at some point becoming fully aware that Palpy is a Sith Lord. The wily Chagrian rides the Chancellor's coat-tails to the Vizier position betraying the Republic and cuts a deal with the New Republic betraying the Empire. I've said before, he reminds me of history's "silk stocking stuffed with shit", Minister Talleyrand, who survived the French Monarchy of Louis XVI, the Revolution's Reign of Terror, the Napoleonic Empire and the Bourbon Restoration by betraying them all! SENATE MURDERS: A cool murder mystery episode and the death of Uncle Ono! Not to mention the surprising murder of Umbaran Senator Mee Deechi! The return of Inspector TAN DIVO whose asymmetrical features are modeled on Peter Lorre and whose droid police force is modeled after the Keystone Kops! I stated before that he dies on Alderaan, his daughter will work for the Imperial Security Bureau and his grandson becomes a Police Commissioner in the New Republic who writes a true-crime bestseller about his forebears' most unusual cases. SILOOD, the Rodian aide who delivers Farr's eulogy, last appeared in "Bombad Jedi" (Season 1, Episode 8) which is the episode that motivates Lolo. It was Farr's desperate decision to align with the Separatists only to betray Viceroy Nute Gunray when he threatened to kill Padme that made Rodia a special target of the Separatists. LOLO was apparently unforgiving of Ono's error in judgment. LOLO was voiced by Jennifer Hale who normally portrays Aayla Secura and Riyo Chuchi. Duchess SATINE, YODA and MACE WINDU were three of the dignitaries attending Onocanda Farr's funeral in silent cameos and C-3PO was a silent companion of Padme's throughout. Loved Padme and Bail investigating crime scenes like a pair of gumshoes! Returning Senators include: -- BAIL ORGANA of Alderaan -- MON MOTHMA of Chandrila -- PADME AMIDALA of Naboo -- ORN FREE TAA of Ryloth (corpulent Twi'lek) -- ONOCANDA FARR of Rodia (Uncle Ono) -- RIYO CHUCHI of Pantora (blue-skinned female) -- KIN ROBB of Taris (black female with conical turban) -- AANG of Roona (creased forehead with big eyes, a Roonan) -- STONK of Ithor (Hammerhead) -- MOT-NOT RAB of Tarn (shaggy, bison-like head, a Tarnab) -- HALLE BURTONI of Kamino (elderly, long-necked female, a Kaminoan) -- MEE DEECHI of Umbara (pale man) -- DANTUM ROOHD (human male with square mitre hat) -- ZINN PAULNESS (bearded human male) The introduction of Gran Senator ASK AAK of Malastare, the three-eyed alien in the green robes who appears in live-action in the Prequel Trilogy. During the confrontation with Lolo, Palpatine has a wicked grin on his face reveling in the chaos he doesn't even have to engineer! All the progress made by Padme's speech last episode to cut military spending is undone by these murders which play right into Palpatine's hands.

When looking through the IMDB for Tom Kenny I wasn't quite sure if you noticed that he is in fact SpongeBob lol, not just that he had been on SpongeBob. I thought I recognized the voice too when I first heard it

Michlale

I always like watching palpatine. I connect so well with him. Big picture plan, playing all sides, backup plans for his backup plans, outthinking/manipulating everyone, sociopathic. (Yes, I'm a sociopath)

I've had people comment that theory about Padme in my ROTS reaction video! A nice theory, imo!

This was pretty nice getting some SW politics again! It sounds weird to be excited by Fictional politics but they are so important to SW and Palpatine’s machinations! And they’ve mostly been empty from more recent SW so it’s nice to revisit this ARC! RIP ONOCANDA FARR😢, he was a real one. I think that Tom Kenny is actually the main Sponge Bob actor, like HE voices the 🧽! And 1 clone to Maybe remember is the Officer that Let the Sweeper/Bomber Droids through. That clone is Commander FOX 🦊, and we’ve seen him a bit before, he Rescued Padmé from Zero the Hutt in the Clone Wars Movie! It’s gonna be hard to recognize him probably because ALL Corrisaunt Guard (Clones with Red Highlights on Armor) Officers look kinda like Fox at a clance😅 The 3 Clones in the Yoda (Season 1 Episode 1) are not Fox but look like him a bit. Fun fact Ahsoka and Anakin’s Outfits changed, I know you noticed Ahsoka’s. I really like the moment at the end of the 2nd episode in this ARC, where Palpatine and Mass Ameda are talking about Padmé being so inspiring, and how she is a thorn in there side😂. THEY try to kill her SO MANY TIMES, so many and then ANAKIN OF ALL PEOPLE kill her!!!!!! Sad but also funny from that perspective. There actually is a popular theory that Padmé doesn’t die of a broken heart in Revenge of the Sith, because we see how Determined and Strong she is especially in tCW, so many people (including me) think that Palpatine siphoned her life force to aid in the Birth/Constitution of Vader! He was at the height of his power in the force, and the cinematography depicts their heartbeats intertwined during the scene in Revenge of the Sith! Vader says that he felt that she was alive and I think that’s because her “life” was being used as fuel to help keep Vader alive. (NOT CONFIRMED/NOT A SPOILER) just remembered that theory and thought like sharing!!! And that way it is kinda more heartbreaking😅😭💔
