We are back in Westeros, everyone! ๐ฒ What a pilot episode! This definitely feels like early season Game of Thrones to me and had every bit of ingredient in this episode that makes up the GoT world. I really enjoyed what this episode laid out for this series and I cannot wait for next week to watch more! [Direct link here.]

2022-11-02 16:35:07 +0000 UTCit's absolutely fascinating to see how GRRM takes inspiration from real life events (The War of the Roses for GOT, and now The Anarchy from English history for HotD) and is able to tell them in a fantasy setting so brilliantly. Rhaenyra is an expy for Empress Matilda who was considered by some to be the first English Queen (but also not really because LOL women as rulers in the medieval period) Matt Smith's wig this episode really wasn't working for me; I think it was the way it was positioned in front of his ears but it made him look like he was supposed to be on Rings of Power rather than HotD.

2022-08-22 16:44:17 +0000 UTCYeah, GOT has its pacing back. That is the most important part that the season 8 last time failed at. The acting is great. The show looks great. The prequel with a prophecy that was never referenced in the first series feels very much like Star Wars but i won't complain. Vicerys being in possession of the dagger that Aria will use to kill the Night King create a nice threat for us to follow for the whole series and keep that connection with the original. I was not really looking forward to this, well now they got me.
