Counting the days indeed. Great remark about Cad Bane too! Thank you.

Hey, Kaiielle! CRISIS ON NABOO: Plots within plots within plots! MORALO EVAL's plan was to distract Republic security while switching out the Chancellor. DOOKU's plan was to flush out a suspected mole while switching up kidnapping plots. PALPATINE's plan was to pit his current apprentice against his prospective one. The Jedi present during the situation room briefing are: -- Grand Master YODA -- Human Master MACE WINDU -- Iktotchi Master SAESEE TIIN -- Zabrak Master EETH KOTH -- Nautolan Master KIT FISTO -- Tholothian Master ADI GALLIA -- Cerean Master KI-ADI-MUNDI -- Kel Dor Master PLO KOON -- Togruta Master SHAAK TI -- Human Knight ANAKIN SKYWALKER -- Togruta Padawan AHSOKA TANO ANAKIN's accusatory tone and hostility are noted by Ahsoka, Mace and Yoda. The INTRODUCTION of Governor SIO BIBBLE into "Clone Wars". The character appeared in live-action in all three prequel films. The RETURN of Queen NEEYUTNEE last seen in "Shadow Warrior" earlier in the season. The dignitaries assembled on the deck include: -- Supreme Chancellor SHEEV PALPATINE -- Speaker MAS AMEDDA -- Senators BAIL ORGANA, PADME AMIDALA and ZINN PAULNESS -- Governor SIO BIBBLE -- Queen NEEYUTNEE -- Captain TYPHO The fireworks display reveals the HISTORY OF NABOO in images! Palpatine mentions Naboo's PLASMA MINES which tap rich veins of energy coursing through the planet. The energy-rich mantle and the water-filled, NON-MOLTEN CORE have baffled Galactic geophysicists for millennia who consider Naboo a unique terrestrial body in the galaxy. I felt bad for CAD BANE. When he realized he had been double-crossed by Dooku, he made a good faith ransom proposal to Hardeen as they had the Chancellor in hand. He was genuinely shocked when Hardeen pulled a gun on him after their bonding experience in the Box! He first thinks Hardeen wants the payday just for himself but is ENRAGED when he discovers his TRUE IDENTITY. Such a betrayal would only serve to harden someone's heart and I'm certain Bane emerges from this experience with a DARKER SOUL. ANAKIN was already frustrated with the Council but, when Obi-Wan reveals he authorized that Anakin remain IGNORANT of the undercover assignment, he takes it PERSONALLY. Palpatine stokes his discord with needling remarks like he "was under the impression the Jedi always worked as a team." THE THIRD DUEL between Anakin and Dooku in Season 4 is the FIERCEST one yet and Dooku is hard-pressed to win it despite his gloating otherwise. "One shudders to think where the galaxy would be without the Jedi." Palpatine is counting the days.

Hey, Kaiielle! THE BOX: Arriving on Dooku's homeworld of SERENNO, the Count subjects a DIRTY DOZEN of the most notorious bounty hunters in the galaxy to a LETHAL SCREENING PROCESS designed by Moralo Eval! This episode was definitely influenced by Vincenzo Natali's Canadian cult classic "CUBE"! The RETURN of EMBO last seen in Jabba's palace in "Sphere of Influence" (Season 3, Episode 4) and last featured in the Kurosawa-inspired "Bounty Hunters" (Season 2, Episode 17) as part of Sugi's team. DAVE FILONI himself vocalizes the fan favorite Kyuzo killer with the multi-purpose headgear! The assembled bounty hunters include: -- CAD BANE, a Duro, the galaxy's best -- EMBO, a Kyuzo, the galaxy's second best -- OBI-WAN KENOBI as RAKO HARDEEN, a Human, the marksman of Concord Dawn -- DERROWN the Exterminator, a Parwan -- TWAZZI, a Frenk -- BULDUGA and ONCA, Ithorian brothers -- JAKOLI, a Rodian -- KIERA SWAN, a Weequay, two-time Obsidian Sphere winner -- MANTU, a Selkath -- SINRICH, a Snivvian -- SIXTAT the Outlands Butcher, a Sakiyan CAD BANE's DIRTIEST MOVE and FINEST HOUR: he murders the Ithorian Bulduga just for his hat but throws a lifeline to Hardeen out of respect! Seen briefly in the background of the electro-blade chamber, SINRICH stumbles into EMBO who threateningly hoists the panicked Snivvian by his shirt to express his displeasure! Sinrich never recovers his composure and doesn't survive the room! The lighter-than-air PARWAN is an unusual alien even for "Star Wars" original to the "Clone Wars". I love how everyone is so rude to him. Cad Bane calls him a "gasbag" and Hardeen claims to have "killed them for a living." Maybe their mushroom-like heads are a delicacy in some quarters! Lol. Obi-Wan tries to play nice but he's forced to get down-and-dirty with Eval whose jealousy costs him the leadership position and nearly his life! Their throwdown in that fiery ring with Dooku's huge "Big Brother"-like visage mercilessly observing them is a great scene. The closing shot of the survivors is an homage to the police line-up scene from Bryan Singer's "THE USUAL SUSPECTS". An awesome death match episode!

Hey, Kaiielle! FRIENDS AND ENEMIES: The three fugitives go to ground on NAL HUTTA and take the measure of each other en route to an appointment with Count Dooku. The CRASH LANDING in the swamp is spectacular! GORGA THE HUTT is seen slithering through the BILBOUSA BAZAAR with his monocle after last being seen slithering through the slave pens of Zygerria in the Slaver Trilogy earlier this season. Before settling on his trademark slouch hat, Cad Bane looks over a familiar-looking FEDORA in Pablo's pawn shop which appears identical to that worn by a certain Professor of Archaeology from a galaxy far, far away. A very cool "Indiana Jones" Easter Egg! Pa'lowick chanteuse SY SNOOTLES drunkenly exits the bar on Nal Hutta in the company of two Twi'lek dancers after last being seen in "The Hunt for Ziro" (Season 3, Episode 9). A poster promoting an appearance by pod-racing champion SEBULBA can be seen in the bar next to the Gotal's head just before Anakin embeds a vibro-axe in the wall next to him after he Force-hurls the weapon from a Gamorrean's hand. Anakin FORCE-CHOKES the Ithorian bartender which is no mean feat since that species has FOUR THROATS! Note how the bartender grasps his TWO MOUTHS, one on each side of the horizontal portion of his hammerhead. PALPATINE really messes with Anakin's head in this one and puts him on a collision course with Obi-Wan that could have ended catastrophically! MAS AMEDDA, the Talleyrand or 'silk-stocking-stuffed-with-sh&t' of "Star Wars" and future Imperial Grand Vizier, is seen next to Palpatine as REX's security detail waits to escort the duo. KENOBI's concern for Anakin comes through Hardeen's face quite transparently so it's fortunate no one could see! It's equally fortunate AHSOKA interceded when she did or Kenobi would have been in a tight spot between CAD BANE and unconscious ANAKIN! AHSOKA defensively crouches over her fallen Master putting her life on the line against the deadly DURO!

Hey, Kaiielle! DECEPTION: A plot to abduct Chancellor Palpatine is discovered and the Jedi seek to thwart it by sending one of their own UNDERCOVER into the underworld. JAMES ARNOLD TAYLOR provides the voice for both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Rako Hardeen. FUNERAL ATTENDEES: Grand Master Yoda, Masters Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, Luminara Unduli, Saesee Tiin, Adi Gallia, Knight Anakin Skywalker, Padawan Ahsoka Tano, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, Senators Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Padme Amidala, Representative Jar Jar Binks, Duchess Satine Kryze To maintain the ruse, Duchess SATINE KRYZE was informed of Kenobi's "death". You can hear her sob at the funeral. This is her second cameo in as many episodes. Hooded ANAKIN looked very "Revenge of the Sith"-like in his anger! If PALPATINE wasn't informed of the Council's strategy, one must wonder if he saw right through the deception at the funeral. HAIRLESS OBI-WAN looked so young! The reconstructive surgery reminds me of the SURGICAL ALTERATIONS made to characters on "Star Trek" to look like alien species when they want to send someone into a culture incognito. If only it were that simple to reshape one's face! Kaiielle, you misunderstood who was who. Mace and Kenobi apprehended the real Rako Hardeen and stripped him of his gear which Kenobi put on while Mace got enough vocalization from Hardeen to program the vocal emulator. After Mace put him to sleep, he left Kenobi disguised as Hardeen in the back room acting drunk. The real Hardeen was either kept on ice in the Jedi Temple or secured in a different facility until the operation was complete to protect Obi-Wan's cover. Incarcerating the two Hardeens in the same joint or even processing them in the same penal system makes no sense because they could run into each other or just become aware of each other through the grapevine. You know Kenobi is the one Anakin roughs up because he's wearing Hardeen's gear whereas the real Hardeen had been stripped down to a jumpsuit. The one risk no one considered was what if Anakin lashed out and murdered Hardeen rather than arrest him? He would have killed Kenobi! The snake-like bartender at the undercity dive is from a species called ANACONDAN! The shark-like inmate who hassles Kenobi is a KARKARODON whose species hasn't been seen since the Mon Cala Trilogy earlier this season. Their roars are terrifying! MORALO EVAL, a PHINDIAN like the Citadel warden OSI SOBECK, killed his mama because he was bored! Using the same excuse as the reason for the hit on Obi-Wan creates a rapport with Moralo who seems to be comforted by being in the company of a nihilistic sociopath! The RETURN of CAD BANE last seen in "The Hunt for Ziro" (Season 3, Episode 9)! Kenobi uses the codename 'BEN' for the first time! Now we know why he uses that alias on Tatooine! The RETURN of BOBA FETT and BOSSK after having last been seen in "Lethal Trackdown" (Season 2, Episode 22). They were thrown into the slam together and this episode establishes them as friends. DANIEL LOGAN, who portrayed Boba Fett in "Attack of the Clones", returns to voice the character again. You have to love the crematorium clone who tosses his SANDWICH defensively at Cad Bane! Lol. BANE is no fool and Hardeen's hesitancy to kill is a huge RED FLAG!

Yes, a really unique and wonderful arc!

kaiielle

I find this arc to be criminally underrated, it’s not anything phenomenal but it’s still up there for me, Cad Bane is always a joy to watch, seeing Embo was really nice as he doesn’t show up too much, and Obi wan being himself but in someone else’s body is so interesting to watch lol 😆 Those signs of Anakin loosing trust in the Jedi order were also VERY intriguing, makes his turn even more believable if you get what I mean (:

Sean H

Obi-Wan is genuinely funny and I love him for it!

kaiielle

Part 3- The Box was cool, I liked it. Obi WAN’s improve hear was HILARIOUS! “50/50, depending on the blood type of the Parwan” 😂 and “I used to kill Parwan’s for a living” Also when Dooku and Anakin fight, you can definitely see Dooku struggling at times, but in one snipbit he is catching his breath. Very interesting. Fun fact Obi WAN’s Helmet in these episodes is based off of Boba Fett Concept ART.

Justin

Unfortunately in order to play the part well, Obi-Wan had to let those clones die. It sucks, but Bane already had an issue with him NOT killing someone, LOL. Yeah, Yoda was kinda mean there... poor Anakin.

kaiielle

Part 2- It is REALLY COOL to see the Jedi continuing to fall further into moral ambiguity. “We are keepers of the peace not soldiers” -Mace. But in this Obi Wan was technically an accomplice to multiple Clones being killed. Obi Wan didn’t kill them, but he just let Bane do it. A Boba Cameo was neat, kinda funny how the Current Best Bounty Hunter manipulated the next best one into starting a prison riot😂😅. And Bossk absolutely BODYING those Guards and Obi Wan for Boba🙌. YES!!! It was interesting that Yoda straight up just told Anakin that he can be a danger to Everyone sometimes, I forgot that he said that. I’m sure that didn’t make Anakin feel good, he probably feels stuck and a bit Guilty. Because the Jedi seem to not try and provide Therapy to him or anything. Like most of them do care like Obi Wan and Yoda, but they are stubborn and stuck in tradition, while also breaking tradition by fighting in a war, FOR a particular side too.

Justin

I did forget Palpatine was from Naboo! Yes, Ahsoka def channels Anakin a lot now. Cad Bane is fantastic. Such a stellar bounty hunter.

kaiielle

Part 1- This is definitely one of my favorite ARCs. At least pound for pound wise. Not a bad or even average episode. They were all Stellar!!! You probably know this but in case you forgot, Palpatien is from Naboo. He was the senator before Padme (well technically I think there was someone in between them). I LOVE CAD BANE in this. He was a standout in particular for sure!!! I really love when Ahsoka Leaps over Bane to protect Anakin! You can see in the first Episode that Ahsoka was kinda copying Anakin’s Body Language and Anger, when they broght Rako/Ben in at first. There are a lot of subtle moments in the show where Ahsoka kinda just Copies Anakin and it is really cute. Padmé and Ahsoka together is adorable as well. Love them.

Justin

Me too, now that we're talking about it and planning for it!

kaiielle

Yay! I love democracy. A YT vid will do well too. I look forward to The Clone Wars Ending Celebration.

Yoshi1990

Agree to all of that. I was going to rewatch RotS the other night but I'm going to wait until TCW is over since we are pretty close now.

kaiielle

Palpatine testing Anakin with Dooku again and again. Until the day he can beat him, he is not ready to turn. The retro foreshadowing gives Revenge of the Sith much more depth. Great arc, one of my favourite. The seeds of Vader are starting to grow, and sadly Kenobi and the Jedi are partially responsible. They are not adapting to who Anakin is and that is not good.

Guiguioh

He most certainly did. And yes, definitely a test run!

kaiielle

Another happy landing with Obi. Seems Kenobi learned how to crash a ship well from his good friend Skywalker. I guess this was Palp's test run of his plan in EP3. Always good to run tests before the actual plan.
