Man of Steel (2013) โœฆ YouTube Edit

Hey folks! Holy moly, this edit took NINE different attempts to get the copyright cleared and I nearly gave up. ๐Ÿ˜‚ As a result, I deeply apologize that there is not much early access time on this one for you all, but I do really want to get this out to the public tomorrow/today. This will premiere on Sunday, September 4 at 13:00 MDT / 19:00 UTC. I will set up the premiere an hour before it goes live, so you have until then to watch this, unless you plan to join the live premiere! As always, I'll be hanging out in the live chat! ๐Ÿ˜Š

For those who watched the full-length uncut reaction, you'll want to skip ahead to the thoughts and review portion of this video to get all caught up on what I think of this movie!

Here is the direct link to watch this reaction.

I also want to give a huge shoutout to my friend Ellinia, who I recently asked to make me custom music to use in all of my reaction videos! That is what you hear during the intro and thoughts/review portion of this video and will be featured in all of my videos, both exclusive and public, moving forward. I absolutely love the dreamy lo-fi vibe that he created for me. If you want to listen to the song without me blabbing over it, please click here. Note that the vocal track you hear in that version is not featured in my version.

Please enjoy this reaction and let me know your thoughts! ๐Ÿ’›

First, thanks for joining the community and I hope you've been enjoying your binge-watching! Thank you for doing so. ๐Ÿ˜Š Really appreciate your thoughts here. I'll admit that my desire to continue with the DCEU has really become non-existent. I kind of felt that way after watching this film, but now that I've watched a significant amount of the MCU, I worry that if I continue with the DCEU I'll just be disappointed and they won't make for good reactions at all. I always want to go into movies as excited as possible, and I just don't feel excited about continuing in the DCEU. Maybe one day in the future when I've long completed the MCU and haven't watched any sort of superhero movies. That said, I do want to watch the original Superman movies, the ones with Christopher Reeve. Not sure when I'll fit them in yet, but they're on my list.

I've only just joined recently and have been making my way through Marvel movies (Up to Guardians 2). Plus with the occasional other movie in between. After I had a sense of your personality, I thought I'd hear what you had to say about this comparatively terrible Superman movie. Everything you said landed perfectly with my own perspective. It's always such a disappointment to see this film be someone's first experience of the Superman narrative. I wouldn't say I'm the biggest Superman fan, but I have watched quite a number of the depictions, so have a well rounded idea of how the story can be told. This is by far the worst, overly ladened CGI monstrosity that I have seen. The changes made, are for change sake, and alter the lessons learned for the character. Some of the actions of the main characters are not in-line with core values that made so many of previous stories a recognisable Superman tale. When I watched this in the cinema. During the scene when they send Zod and alike to the Phantom Zone. I turned to my friend and said, "Does that look like...." He nodded and half smiled and with the same look of disbelief I had. After we left the theater, walking across the carpark. We commented on how was it possible that no one during the many long hours of editing could see what that looked like. I ended by saying that movie was such a c**k up and failed to live up to the potential of retelling this story with modern technology. The only problem was, they switched the importance of one for the other.
