Super vaild points to everything and I agree. I don't think he would have had a problem overcoming him breaking his oath if it weren't for Rhaenyra declining to run away with him.

By Dothraki standards this wedding would be considered a dull affair 😄 Ser Criston Cole is very honour bound, especially due to him achieving the highest position anyone in his family had made. And so has problems overcoming the fact that he broke his oath. Since he can't lie to the Queen I think his guilt drove him to jump the gun and confess, before she had gotten to her point. Likewise, killing Laenor's boyfriend was likely in desperation to prevent bringing that kind of shame to his family name.
