Calcifer's Drift Airship

A tribe of tinkerers, once known as Rainblades, lived in a relative isolation from the rest of the world. It was not so because they were not capable, it was mostly because they chose not to be around any other people. The one exception was a friendship they developed with a group of sentient Clouds that frequently drifted above their heads. 

And so it went for them for hundreds of years, until a youngling named Asahel stumbled upon a blindingly shimmering ancient gold artifact that resembled a large ring. When he summoned the elders, it was jointly decided that the artifact must be dug up and studied. As a people of technology, they could not miss this opportunity.

The best of the Rainblades worked on the artifact once it was uncovered. They finally were able to decipher that the artifact would enable them to fly. All they had to do is retrofit their old ships to the artifact... and ask the sentient Clouds if one of them would be willing to power their new contraption. After a round of short negotiations with the Clouds, one named Calcifer gladly stepped up to the challenge. Calcifer was eager to have the Rainblades as their new travel companions. And thus was born a ship named Calcifer's Drift.

Hi All!

I hope you are excited for this release, I certainly am! I love the way this came out, and I, yet again, have to thank my husband Maltus, for helping me come up with the theme and the story for this ginormous flying contraption. I took a lot of inspiration for this map from Howl's Moving Castle (one of my favorite movies of all time) by studio Ghibli, and so we figured that it would only be apt to name the ship Calcifer's Drift.
