We Won.

Today WOTC came out and made a public statement, saying that they are completely backing off from deauthorizing OGL 1.0. Additionally, they are adding the entirety of SRD under Creative Commons! Read their statement here.

This is a massive win for creators all across the TTRPG spectrum. Further, I believe what happened this January will keep affecting the industry far into the future. I think that it is going to become a more diverse system space, with more publishers focusing on providing support for far more different TTRPG systems than ever before.

And we also get to keep D&D!

And all of that is thanks to you! Thank you for standing up for us. Thank you for putting your wallets on the line, and making it very clear to WOTC what you want. Thank you. You saved my job. You saved my livelihood and so many others. Thank you.

I'll be honest with you. I've been crying tears of relief on and off all day, ever since they posted the announcement. It's been so incredibly stressful, I wonder if you'll be able to tell the line of gray hair on my head that belongs to January 2023.

What happens with DWW now?

Unless something changes (again), I am planning on continuing releasing 5e content. HOWEVER, I will also be branching out into other systems! I will talk more about it soon.

For now, I shall sail away into the polluted seas of Raft to the serene sounds of seagulls and picking up random trash off the ocean floor. God, I need some rest.

We Won.

Until they admit that they can't mess with OGL1.0 they are still lying and screwing with us. They are saying it is their choice not to deauthorize it. They must admit that they CAN'T deauthorize or revoke it.
