Rebels: Rise of the Old Masters [1x05] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Great point about Ezra and Kanan. Excited to see for myself how this relationship develops and what happens!

Absolutely love the Grand Inquisitor in Rebels, his presence is always known when on screen and Jason Isaac's voice is just perfect for the character. Ezra and Kanan's Master/Padawan dynamic is one of my absolute favorites. I slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY prefer them over Anakin and Ahsoka more so because back then during Clone Wars, we all knew how Anakin's story pans out, so we knew something was bound to happen with Ahsoka, but with these two, you don't know where the stories headed. It's what I love about them.

Love this comment and lots of good points made. Yeah, the keeping dead Jedi around is kinda freaky, to be honest. Glad you're enjoying them!

This episode felt very video game like with the Saber Throwing and Kanen using the force to disarm so many Troopers. I REALLY LOVE how INTIMIDATING the Grand Inquisitor is here. He is just SO confident and almost quippy. I like his Style and Vibe more in Rebels than in Kenobi, but the Kenobi take on his is also fun! CRAZY to see the Empire using the Bones of Dead Jedi to trick survivors into traps. Now we have an example of why the Empire have their “Collection” for lack of a better word, of Dead Jedi and Jedi Artifacts that we see in Kenobi, in the Inquisitor HQ! I’m really really excited to keep watching Rebels!

I feel like this episode is def giving us a little taste of what's to come. Excited for more!

Another dope as hell episode, best one so far, also quite dark considering how tame the show has been up to this point, they literally use luminaras dead corpse to lure other Jedi there to kill them, that’s messed up. Looking forward to the next one! (:

Thanks so much! Completely agree as well.

This episode goes hard. In my memory rebels started kinda slow, but this episode had everything with high stakes and nice character development, so I guess I was wrong. I especially like how we got more background on Kanan and how he figured out the meaning of "do or do not, there is no try" although it always confused him. Seeing the Inquisitor in action for the first time was also cool, as goofy rebels is at times he really is a scary villain and a clear danger to our crew. I enjoyed your reaction a lot!
