Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) ✦ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

Hey everyone! Here is the full-length reaction to Captain America: The First Avenger! [Direct link here.] As a heads up, I watched the first part of the post-credits scene, and then all of a sudden it felt like a trailer started playing?! So I stopped watching at that moment because it felt like it was the trailer for the next film. And y'all know that I don't want to see trailers. I also think someone commented this to me on my Thor reaction, but I am too lazy to find it. So hope that's okay! Early access for this will be out sometime tomorrow, but prepare for later in the day my time (MST).

As always, thanks so much for watching! 🧡

Thanks so much Louelle! Appreciate you being here and glad you're enjoying the journey. ❤️

Hi there! First time Patreon user here, I joined specifically so I could see your full reaction to this film specifically. It's still one of my favourites in the MCU, I just love Cap's origin story. Same goes for Iron Man. I'm really enjoying your first time reactions and it's really fun hearing you theory craft on the fly based on the information you have, you're a really observant viewer! I wish you a lot of fun in the coming months as you slowly catch up to where we are today (: In the meantime, have a good NYE!

Lou

Glad you're enjoying it! Thanks so much for watching.

I was shaking my head yes to the question “is she who I think?” with a big smile on my face. You will be asking that a lot in the coming months, you never know who will pop up in the MCU. A pleasure to watch along with you as always. Chris Evans was a bit of a slow burn for me as Captain America. I was just used to seeing him play a more cocky or sarcastic hot guy type. After spending over a decade watching him mature as an actor, not only in the MCU, but in other projects as well, I was wrong, and now Steve Rogers is in my top 3 favorite characters and character arcs in the MCU so far, and I can’t imagine anyone else being Captain Rogers. “I had a date.” Some of the most heartbreaking lines said in a movie. Looking forward to the edit and final thoughts!

I would much rather do a quick search myself than ask someone, because then if I get spoiled, I only have myself to blame. If I ask and they end up typing a spoiler in their answer, then I'm going to get upset with them. I'd much rather just be able to get upset with myself, you know? To confirm, the quick Google search of Red Skull didn't spoil anything for me. All I wanted to know is if Red Skull was a real thing or not and since the first result was the MCU Wiki and not a real-life history page, then I knew I was good and my question was answered. Thanks for answering my question about the makeup/CGI for Hugo! And also for letting me know that there aren't any more trailers I have to watch out for LOL.

Good call on not looking up how they made the Red Skull. I ran into spoilers doing so but that’s ok since I’ve seen all the MCU. To keep from spoiling things, probably best to ask in the reaction or in closing notes and someone will answer. The good news is that Marvel didn’t put any more trailers in their films so end credit scenes are safe to wait for from here on out. And to get Hugo Weaving looking as he did, it was mostly make-up and prosthetics but with some digital enhancements like nose removal.

Yeah, I'll do that!

When the Avengers reaction is over, if you want, look up the Avengers Captain America deleted scene. It doesn't spoil anything, just gives a different opening to Cap in the movie. I think it's something they should have kept in. It's so good.

I plan to watch the shorts probably all at once after the movies are done. Not sure if I'll upload reactions or not. I am aware of the Agent Carter show as well, but obviously haven't looked too much into it. I just remember seeing the name. Weirdly, I actually was disappointed by the villain in this one. Not because of Hugo's performance, but there was something missing for me about Red Skull/Schmidt. If I enjoyed the villain a lot, this movie probably would have taken over the #1 spot so far out of these 5 films.

Enjoy it!

Just finished watching! The relationship between Steve and Peggy is really sweet in this movie. Should you be interested in more Agent Carter, there is a two season show on Disney+ called Agent Carter. Also there are marvel One-Shots, with "The Consultant" and "A funny thing happened on the way to Thor's Hammer" covering events from movies you already watched. They were originally released as extras on the DVDs. They are so short that a reaction would be overkill I think, so just if you are interested. There is also an Agent Carter one that is a little longer, although I personally would recommend watching the show first if you consider that. Hugo Weaving really plays an impressive villain, he conveys so well that his character is always in control of the situation and not fumbling around. Big recommendation for Matrix, but that is already on your watchlist on letterboxed I see. Really looking forwards to the Avengers and also the next Captain America reaction!

Great! Now I know what I'm doing after work.

Dan Hughes

I think he'll be one of mine too.

Thanks so much! I appreciate more women finding my videos. My viewership is predominantly men, so it's nice seeing a fellow gal around! Glad you're enjoying them.

kaiielle

Yeah I've realized my error, but hey that's okay! ☺️

kaiielle

Love your reactions! They are sure fun to watch!

Kristine Friling

Also, that was not Odin in the coffin. Odin is a God and was alive at the end of Thor which is in "present day"

One of my favorite phase 1 movies. That ending always gets me. "I had a date" Will forever love this movie. Cap is one of my favorite heroes.

William. C

Okay, super glad I didn't watch it! As soon as the words "NEXT SUMMER" appeared on the screen, I was like whoah I do not think this is a post-credits scene anymore!

kaiielle

Oh yeah, didn’t think about that. Your reaction was spot on, it is a trailer for The Avengers. Glad you had the presence of mind to stop watching. Looking forward to my re-watch with your reaction and comments. 😃
