WALL-E (2008) ✦ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

Comments

Hi, I am a little late to the party, catching up with your reactions. Your wonderful reaction mirrored my feelings exactly, when I was watching it in cinema, back in 2008 when it came out. 🙂 Little fun fact: Regarding your love for Star Wars - Ben Burtt, the Character Voice Designer on this movie, who created the voices and the language of Wall-E and Eve, also created the voice and language of C3PO. He was hired specifically because of his experience with robotic sounds working on Star Wars or E.T., where he also created E.T.s voice. 🙂

I ended up watching the rest of the credits after filming. Bad habit to pause as soon as they start, which I'm sure MCU will train me out of LOL.

One of my all time favorite moments that I own on DVD even to this day. Just a beautiful film for the whole family, to anyone of any age. Also you turned it off during but the credits give a nice story to what happened to Earth after they all came back.

@Absher, been on the list forever just like WALL-E. So One Day™️ :)

kaiielle

You gotta see Ratatouille. It's one of my favorites!

Oh I bet! Sometimes kids movies just hit so much harder as an adult. And thank you for the kind words!

kaiielle

That's awesome!

I remember watching this in theaters as a kid bewailed by the animation. But now as an adult and been through life experiences this movie has a WAY different meaning now! The relationship that they built between the two and the humans in the movie are so scary close to us 😥 Thank you for letting us in your personal life a bit and I hope that whatever the situation, it will get better!

This is my favorite Pixar movie. I watched it 7 times in a row when it first came out and I got it on DVD. That was a fun night.

Thanks Ian! Twitch was a big priority for me and so important during the pandemic. Online communities in general were such a big help. Thank you for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the reaction!

My favorite Pixar film. The way they were able to bring the robots such depth and character with minimal dialogue is astounding. The film hits as hard as it did when watching it in theaters. Hope your days are getting better, Kaiielle. Always remember you’re not alone. The communities created in the reaction space since the pandemic have been so important, to me and I’m sure so many others. Thank you for being here!

Ratatouille is the only pre-2011 Pixar film left for me to see now that I've just watched WALL-E. The other Pixar films I haven't seen yet are Brave, The Good Dinosaur, Cars 3, Incredibles 2, and the last five films (Onward, Soul, Luca, Turning Red, and Lightyear). I am really looking forward to Elemental and Inside Out 2 though! Scheduled for 2023 and 2024 respectively.

kaiielle

Absolutely, and sure, Kat works for me 😁👍👍

I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction and the film and I'm sorry you're having a crappy week too. I really don't like riding a boat through these waves, especially since we can't see them coming. I know this is just temporary for me, but still sucks and makes me super unmotivated to do anything, really. Took a lot of effort to get myself ready to sit down and watch this movie, but finally did it and of course, feel better for it.

kaiielle

Ahh I see, I’m glad it’s a temporary one (: Also, are there any other pre-2011 Pixar films you haven’t seen that you’d like to watch? Or animated in general?

Sean H

It is very much a silent movie and makes me want to dabble in silent movies someday (I have never watched one). Thanks for the kind words!

kaiielle

There are a handful of pre-2011 Pixar films that I adore and love. I'm glad you enjoyed watching this reaction! Thank you for the kind words, and to not feeling super well this week, I'll be fine! I know it's just a temporary down feeling.

kaiielle

Thank you so much Kat (can I call you Kat?) - I appreciate it!

I haven’t watched this movie in years. I forgot how wonderful it is. The tears were flowing, but a good cry is just the thing sometimes. It also brought back good memories of when this was the watch on repeat 20x times a day for my son back when it hit home video or DVD & Blu-Ray should I say. This actually was one of the first movies I ever watched on blu-ray, and I remember thinking, it looked stunning. Pixar & Disney sure do know how to please the eye. If you get a chance watch thru the end credits, there is some neat epilogue animation. Thank you for sharing your first time watching this with us. I hope this helped with rough times, and you can finish out the week in a better place 🌈

This is an absolutely magical film, I know it’s borderline redundant to call a pre-2011 Pixar film a masterpiece but this film man, i genuinely can’t put into words how emotional this film made me, I cried at least 3 times during this reaction and while yeah I cry at a lot of stuff, this made me an absolute mess. But that’s the magic of Pixar for you. Honestly one of your best reactions yet, KL. This, return of the jedi, the siege of mandalore and the last samurai were phenomenal reactions in my opinion, I know I say this a lot but thank you for letting me experience this film with you (this was my first time watching too) I noticed you mentioned not feeling the best this past week and from the bottom of my heart, I really hope whatever you’re going through gets better soon, there is always a light at the end of tunnel, remember that (:

I remember when this came out. At the time the whole first part really stood out. It still does. If you think about it, it's almost a silent movie. Sorry about life being a bit rough at the moment. I hope it will pass soon *patpat*

Thank you so much for this....didn't know what to do with my night but I wanted something easy. This was perfect. That ending is so devastating though, until he comes back around....this movie had me crying several times - the part where Eve sees Wall-E taking care of him when she was shut down also got me. I remember being very surprised my first time watching this too. I feel like all I had heard about it was that there wasn't very much dialogue, so I was expecting much less of an actual plot, something much more avant garde. But it really has everything you would expect from a Pixar film. Even still, it's a very unique story and idea, and unusual of Pixar to dip their toes into such hard-hitting social commentary, but it worked very well. Definitely a timeless classic. Also, I haven't had a very good week either, which has been especially frustrating after what has felt like a pretty good stretch of doing pretty well. It sucks to go from feeling perfectly alright to....suddenly not. But this was a nice little treat that brightened at least one of my evenings this week, just wanted to let you know that. 🤗
