Thank you so much for all of your kind comments about Ella, by the way. It's warmed my heart so much. An update... she is still pretty much the same, but I've noticed her mood has improved a bit. Mobility is still not great. Just taking it day-by-day at this point.
Despite all that underlying feeling, this reaction did turn out pretty good. I am pleased that I really enjoyed the film and was able to show that. 💞

This is the best single-hero MCU movie to date, no doubt, and one of the best things about it is how it’s firmly rooted in the present — and the possible future — while beautifully paying tribute to the political paranoia thrillers of the the 70s like THE CONVERSATION and THE PARALLAX VIEW. The scene with Cap and Widow discovering Arnim Zola is right out of that era and one of my favorite MCU scenes, period. Another of those movies, THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, starred Robert Redford, who played Alexander Pierce in TWS, so his casting was itself an homage. For those who haven’t, Redford is an actor well worth exploring, as he appeared on some of the most important movies of the last century, including the second-best journalism movie ever made, ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN. Speaking of the president, one of the details I love in TWS is when the targets for Project Insight are revealed one of the first is President Matthew Ellis, who we met in IRON MAN 3. Rhodey and Maria Hill were also on the list.
