I would say the drop-off in quality hits pretty hard after Terminator 3. That one has enough going on that it's worth a look and would be interesting simply because many reactors naturally stick to the beloved classics, and I think T3 is just in the sweet spot where it would be a worthwhile watch even if you didn't like it and it would provide a strong basis for interesting discussion. I like Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate also has its fans, but I can't in good conscience say I think Genisys would be as interesting of a video for discussion and I don't know how you'd feel about skipping two movies to get to Dark Fate (even when taking into account reasons that I wouldn't discuss that make this less meaningful than you might expect). However, I feel both AlienΒ³ (the workprint version I discussed on YouTube) and the theatrical version of Alien: Resurrection are both in that sweet spot. Both of them take big swings, which is what I admire about them. If the biggest problem with sequels is that they often struggle with trying to stay fresh while delivering more of the same, the first four Alien movies make up one of the more commendable major franchises of all time simply because each one has a distinct and differing tone and style. (I once wrote a piece about this, relegated now to the Wayback Machine, but it's chock full of spoilers for both movies, so I can't link it).

I haven't decided yet quite how I'll tackle the remaining films in both franchises, but I'll always share if/when I know!

The Armat M41A Pulse Rifle is so such a cool weapon up there with the Plasma rifles from Terminator 1 and 2 in both design and sound effects. The story behind these weapons and United States Colonial Marine Corps are really cool and deep in terms of the lore. Doom had a really fun Aliens mod with all the weapons which can even work in VR. Was terrifying getting jumped by an alien and firing in every direction in the darkness. Also on the topic of Aliens and Terminator they both have parts of the fandom who say "Okay stop when you get to the 2nd film." I personally find enjoyment in the sequels both for Terminator and Alien even if I prefer the earlier movies it's fun seeing where the stories lead to next so I'd be fine with watching the other movies.
