Ahh okay that does make a bit more sense! Thanks again.

Well in the in Universe Timeline this would still be around 3 years before Rogue One or around 3BBY. In release order it aired on TV In February 2016, about 10 months before Rogue One released. I just double checked, I was mistaken in my first comment.

Thanks for clarifying where this is placed in the timeline!

Definitely a fun one, and it is good to humanize some of the Imperials sometimes. I like the added Lassat lore and Kallus backstory we get here, it makes some sense why Kallus might’ve been so callous prior to this once we see that he saw a Lassat mercenary wipe out a bunch of injured troopers. And the SAW GERERRA mention, was a nice touch! For reference this episode would have come out around when Rogue one released marking Saw’s first return to Star Wars since Clone Wars Season 5. I do really like the Zeb and Kallus team up, twas a very good episode!

Justin

Honestly that makes sense he was picked up by a random ship and not the Empire. That makes his interactions with people on the ship even more heartbreaking.

Very excited to see more!

We're getting towards the end of the season so you should know by now the episodes get less "fun". One of my favorite Rebels episodes to see people react to because just about everyone has the same reaction to Kallus, starting with your sentiment of "ugh Kallus again" and ending with "well I kind of like Kallus now?" It's always been a somewhat subtle (in varying degrees) theme in Star Wars in the Imperial timeline with the empire being mechanical, uncaring, unemotional, and the rebels being in tune with nature, caring, empathetic, etc. This episode really shoves it to the forefront at the end where we see the reception of Zeb vs Kallus. This really makes Kallus an interesting character going forward. Like you said, how does this change how he interacts with the Ghost crew going forward?

This is by far one of my FAVORITE episodes from Season 2. Zeb and Kallus's ideologies clashing is always so fun to watch. Also it's never stated at all, but it wasn't the Empire that picked him up. It was a passing transport ship that dropped him off at the Star Destroyer. The Empire couldn't care less that he was gone or possibly dead. They pretty much abandoned him.
