The “robot” line was never in the original script. In the episode commentary Bryan and Aaron tell how they came up with the line on set and had to trick the set crew into re-shooting the scene because “there was something wrong- a hair on the lens” so Aaron could use it. The only people in on it were Aaron & Bryan and a writer they ran it by first (not Vince)

This episode and the show at large does a beautiful job of exposing how futile it is to try and control one's situation in order to yield a desired outcome.
