Fun reaction to a fun movie. While I’d be in some agreement with those who say this is bit too jokey for a Thor movie, I’d quickly add, for those of us who grew up in the 80s, Ragnarok felt very much like the blockbusters that blew us away as kids. There’s an attention to scope, scale, and storytelling here that I very much appreciated.

😈 Definitely not one of my favorites. As the letterbox review said, just too many jokes. As much as I love Korg, we're watching Asgard explode while he makes a joke. It does have some great moments. As you said, the overall story is pretty interesting. I also love the visuals

Wait Clancy Brown is Surtur!!! He also voiced Odin in the Yost Universe (The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Wolverine and the X-Men, Hulk vs Wolverine and maybe The Spectacular Spider-Man but that's up for debate) a animated universe Marvel had going on in the early 2010s. So that's cool lol He also voiced Sasquatch a Gamma-irradiated member of Alpha Flight, Mister Sinister an iconic Mutant, George Stacy the father of Gwen Stacy, Rhino the iconic Spider-Man villain, Taskmaster, and Red Hulk to name a few. So I guess Marvel has close ties with him.

Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

I am in 95% agreement with your review 😈 The 1.5 star review you read from certainly did nail it for me as well. However, I have softened my opinion of this movie as we have progressed in the MCU, and that is one of the main reasons I enjoy this franchise so much. The interconnectivity and overarching narrative can turn a not so great movie into a beautiful collection of moments that warms your heart, all the while breaking it. Knowing what I know about this collection of characters and their journey’s so far, Thor: Ragnarok has some good moments🤘 P.s. I love that you clocked Clancy Brown as the voice of Surtur.

Yeah, that's a great point. I'm so interested to see what I think of all these movies watching them a second time around on my own time. I'm looking forward to getting the Black Panther reaction out for you all!

Great video as always KL, hope you had a great weekend. This is definitely the MCU film that has grown on me the most over time. When it first came out, a lot of the comedy also annoyed me quite a bit, which is odd considering I love all the guardians films. I think the reason is that the guardians had that style from the beginning, while the previous two Thor films were some of the more serious films in the MCU so it just kinda felt jarring. However, after learning to separate it from the previous Thor films and looking at the movie on it's own it's grown to become one of my favorites. Looking forward to Black Panther, I LOVE that movie.
