Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) โœฆ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

Hey hey hey! Here's the next MCU reaction! This movie truly made me realize how much I have missed Scott and I really felt the lack of his presence in Infinity War. I can't help but wonder all the cool things he would have done to help everyone else as all that shit was happening. It was great revisiting these characters. I'm looking forward to your comments! Please enjoy! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) โœฆ Full-Length Watchalong Reaction

Comments

Edit: Question-- have you seen any Marvel series before like Daredevil and Jessica Jones that were originally on Netflix or is everything new new to you in this regard?

Keeley Thurman

I never watched any Ant-Man until you did these reactions. I think they are way up there in my favorites which surprises me. Except for them being turned to dust, I love love love that Janet and Hank still loved each other and were still together at the end of it all. A lot of times the person "left behind" is bitter and wants revenge and all of that, but I liked this happy ending so much, that doesn't happen so much sometimes in Marvel. I also really enjoyed the humor. It seems more... natural here instead of Guardians humor which doesn't hit it for me at all. I think the humor is forced in Guardians because thats their shtick. Paul Rudd and this cast have a good touch on the humor without it always being a joke type humor. Jokes are really audience dependent, which is why comedians are never middle of the road for people-- either they are loved or they are left. But GOOD movie humor is like this movie, where it's obviously been written to be funny but the actors make it seem like every day this type of humor could be. I also agree about maybe too many villains, I think if they axed Burch and had Ava be more sinister a little more AND THEN the redemption/healed arc that might have been a hit a bit more. I thought this was a really fun movie though without "the world will end" consequences. Things having so high of stakes so often becomes tiring.

I intend to watch a few of the shows in between Spider-Man: Far From Home and Black Widow. I've been told which ones are must watch, so the plan is to put a few episodes in each video instead of dedicating one video to one episode, otherwise I'll be with MCU TV shows for longer than I'd like (from a channel schedule perspective). I may also watch the Garfield Spider-Mans before I start Black Widow and beyond.

Hi Kaiielle, hope your days well! Great reaction as usual, im just curious how you're going to approach doing the TV shows, as you're getting close to them. Are you going to do everything in release order as usual? Or prioritise some things over other ones. Because some TV shows can be watched before others without missing things. Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Thanks for this comment! Most often than not, the negative style of comments just make me laugh and I can easily shoot back at them or reply with kindness or delete the comment altogether. I think because I knew that *so* many people were looking forward to Infinity War, it just added this extra thing in my brain where I was like, "Oh I can probably expect more comments on that reaction then", and then seeing so many of them not enjoying what I put out was just really shitty. ๐Ÿ˜† I feel better now. Talking about it helps a lot, but doing so then results in people saying "Don't give them any attention! Just ignore it." Which they don't realize isn't all that helpful, even though they really mean well. But it's still helpful anyway.

Thanks so much for watching. ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm glad you had a great time!

I believe I was told that the last movie he appears in is Endgame. He looked pretty old in this one, so if he's not in Captain Marvel, that's fine by me. Looking forward to finding out.

What a great way to wake up this mornin! Wonโ€™t have time to watch until tonight. But Iโ€™m all in on this re-ride with you. These are all second time viewings for me so the added comments and reactions positively enhance the experience. Fair warning for you. Stan Lee passed away before Captain Marvel was released. This is not a spoiler but something you may want to keep in mind when you watch it.

Great Cast, good Script (something really rare nowadays) not one of the best but good. Especially the female cast. Michelle Pfeiffer is a legend. Evangeline Lilly is amazing and knows what Movie she has to choose and Hannah John-Kamen was a very pleasant surprise as Ghost. Male Cast (Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd) is without a doubt fantastic. Action is well paced imho and the fun is great although Michael Pena becomes a bit annoying over the course of the movie. Thanks KL for becoming one of the best channels outthere (and i mean top 3 imho).

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say anything during your premiere for Big Hero 6 earlier today (catching bits of it while working), but thanks for mentioning how you were feeling going into the viewing of it (coming off the dumb comments you had caught wind of). I also think it's important to talk about that stuff when you can, knowing full well that it's not easy, for a lot of people. And obviously I'm sorry that you and all reactors have to deal with that crap. As for your reaction here, I totally get what you mean about it being so chaotic with having to worry about Ghost, Burch, and the FBI - all at the same time. I agree that it can detract from the overall experience when there's not a single baddie, but multiple ones grasping for your attention. Similar to having to worry about the Sovereign, the Ravagers, and eventually Ego in Guardians 2. Lastly, people are clearly far too butthurt about the smallest of things if they give you grief about your occasional eye rolls for Drax. I've not heard you say once that you hate Drax, but that his literal style of comedy isn't as funny as it was previously - they can just get over it. Or they can just go watch someone else that matches up with their ideal reaction for every moment of every scene. Some people's expectations are just too much. But as you said during your Big Hero 6 review, you can't please everyone, so there's no reason to stress yourself out trying. There are plenty of us that are very happy and grateful for YOUR reactions. Keep up the amazing work, KL. We appreciate you.
