Rebels: Double Agent Droid [3x19] ✦ Watchalong Reaction & Review

Hi everyone! I realized at the end of this episode JUST how close we are to season ending and beginning! [Direct link here.]

Next week will be very exciting as we are wrapping up Season 3 and then beginning Season 4. Can't believe there's only one more season left until I can flip back to LIVE ACTION Star Wars! 😎

I hope you all have the best weekend EVER and thanks so much for being part of this community! 🧑

Cheers,

Almost but not quite a musical interlude at the end there. But then after the last time Star Wars tried a musical it's not surprising they held back ;)

It is! Wasn't expecting that. I'm excited too!

The part with AP floating in space is surprisingly very poignant and deep haha. I think you will really like the next episode! I'm excited for Season 4.

TY for the fun facts Justin! Totally agree this was fun and interesting!

Completely agree with you on this LOL. Although I'm considering doing some reactions here to Star Wars Visions since I've seen some good things said about Season 2. Maybe I will do that after the live-action stuff is over. 😊 Thanks for watching!

I was pretty confident that I didn't know Chopper's voice... but I checked past posts and looks like you told me that a couple months ago and someone else told me even earlier than that. I forgot this info both times, probably because Dave isn't named in the credits. I also realized that someone ELSE had commented that they hoped nobody had spoiled who voices Chopper and I replied saying that nobody had, even though you and the other person had told me already. πŸ˜‚ Selective memory on my end. Well now I for SURE know. πŸ˜… Agree with you on Chopper/AP/Hera. As for filler, yeah this episode wasn't bad at all and I know some heavy stuff is probably coming so def welcomed the fun.

So this episode actually has a ton of fun facts! 1. The argument between Chopper and AP-5 at the beginning that goes β€œyes I can, no you can’t, yes I can…” is a reference to a musical named Annie get your gun where 2 characters sing a song with those lyrics. When I was in high school, I performed in a high school version of Annie get your Gun 2. The Refresher, this a Star Wars Restroom 🚽, and this marks the first ever appearance of one on screenπŸ˜…. 3. The Imperial Communications ship was staffed with people all equipped with the Cybernetic implants that Ezra’s friend Seebo from season one had, Lando’s friend Lobot from the Empire Strikes back, and Echo also has something similar at least in appearance. But those implants basically make people function as computers. So that is why some of them spoke like droids. 4. The ship that the imperials had was only a modified Gazanti Crusier, meaning that it is at most 2X the size of the Ghost. It’s the ship you see drop off Tie fighters, walkers, and the smallest imperial capital ship we see in the show. But it is a little silly to have Hera overload there ship to the extent that the self destructπŸ˜‚! I really like this episode, it’s definitely a goofy one, but very fun and interesting!

Excited to be this much closer to live action but, sad this will be the last of the animated Star Wars shows until Bad Batch season 3. Loved the reaction, have a good weekend!

"see Chopper do Chopper things" is an accurate description of Chopper's role in the show. Chopper and AP are an extension of the Specter family like siblings. The even sassier version of 3P0 and R2. Not sure if it'd been mentioned before but Dave Filoni does the "voice" for chopper and I'm sure he had a lot of fun with it. I heard somewhere that he didn't refrain from using it as a way to censor some vulgar language. You'd think they'd learn not to mess with Momma Hera's family but they never do. "Hera's mad" was very much the phantom crew's "uh oh, mom is mad". Normally I'm iffy on filler episodes, but knowing where we came from and how the season ends in the next three episodes to finish the season, it's a good lighthearted "reset" kind of episode as a break.
