I also hope that we see more of him in S2 and I think we will just because of how we see him in Rogue One, we need some sort of bridge to that. I'm excited for what's to come! He's a great character and I love having mixed feelings about him too.

Yep, Mon is a great leader for the Rebellion. Saw is just too wild.

It was in Season 1, kind of a throw away little quest but Kanan and Hera went to destroy a shipment of a kyber crystal. Can't remember what episode but it was one of the early ones.

I remember seeing this episode and seeing Saw again looking like his Rogue One self and just being so excited. And the fact that Two Tubes was with him as well was just icing on the cake. Saw is one of my favorite SW characters for his complexity, I like that I have mixed feelings on him and for the Rebellion it's important to have characters like Saw to give more depth and see the darker side of the Rebel cause. I really hope Saw is going to be more prominent in Andor S2.

In this episode, Jedha is mentioned in connection to the Kyber crystal. Seeing as it is the only concrete location Saw got in this whole operation, it would make sense for him to relocate and establish a base there, which is where we find him in Rogue One. Also, the xchange between Saw and Mon Mothma is great. To be honest, at this point, Mon Mothma, while having its flaws and maybe seeming a bit undecisive at times, is the leader the Rebellion needs: she thinks in terms of long-term strategy and is very contious of the limited forces the rebellion has: in order to grow, the Rebellion needs to win the minds and hearts of the people, and generally speaking, being cruel and ignoring civilian casualties is not a good way to do it. At first glance, Saw and Luthen seem similar, as both are very much morally gray, willing to do morally questionable things for the greater good. But there's a big difference: for Saw, winning means destroying his enemies, his goal is to see the Empire burn, whereas Luthen has the same goals as Mon Mothma: toppling the Empire to replace it with something better. I'd say someone like Luthen was a necessary evil when the rebellion was too weak to act publicly and openly. Now that it has gone public, there's not as much need of Luthen, you need a more righteous (but strategical) way of leading the rebellion, and that is what Mon Mothma provides.

These 2 episodes were really really good! Getting even more Saw is almost always nice, except for the 2nd time in Bad Batch 😡. But Saw’s conversation with Mon Mothma was really interesting and showed the strengths and weaknesses of both Saw and Mon as people and Rebel leaders quite well! Some info and facts: 1. Saw leads his own Rebel cell called the Partisans in this episode, in Andor, and in Rogue One especially. But last time we saw him in Rebels he was working for the Rebel Alliance, or the Rebel cells that would soon form it. 2. The Death Star is moved around a bunch during it’s construction, at one point it was over Geononsis, Scariff I believe, and many other planets and empty space locations. In Attack of the Clones, Poggel the Lesser hands Count Dooku a holo disk with the Death Star designs on it, and we see it’s skeletal super structure at the end of Revenge of the Sith. A lot of the books hint into Death Star related stuff further. 3. For the most part Death Troopers; the Black Armored Stormtroopers we see here, with Krenic, and with Thrawn from last season’s finale; are specifically given to officers and objectives that have to deal with Secret projects. 4. I also couldn’t remember another Kyber Crystal that the Empire had in Rebels, unless we didn’t SEE it, and it was instead something that was mentioned by the Lothal Senator from season 1😅 5. No spoilers, but I would definitely rewatch Rogue One after Rebels. And then I’d watch a Blind Wave reaction to it! I think you’d enjoy it a lot, and would see Rogue One quite differently. I am very excited for the rest of the season!

Justin

It was Blind Wave! I was watching their reactions to the trailers of the sequels the other night. ☺️

kaiielle

kinda unimportant but wondering which reactor you saw mentioning the ghost? My guess would be blind wave but i'm subbed to them so biased. You introduced me to Kev and Lewis in Sofa and Chill so just wondering.
