Great reacts! I'm an 80s kid and saw that episodes 4 & 5 were based on Family Ties, Growing Pains, and of course Full House as you mentioned. You are totally right, she is doing this to heal from her trauma. She never got a chance to do so properly. Thanks for releasing 3 at a time again!

2023-08-27 16:12:41 +0000 UTCI didn’t know it was Monica until the “Lt. Trouble” sound byte but was thrilled they brought her in (as well as Jimmy and Darcy). Looks like others have answered most of your questions but for the connection to the 80s which was also giving the Full House vibes, that episode’s opening credits gave me big Family Ties nostalgia as the watercolor painting of the cast was from that show’s opening credits (Michael J. Fox sitcom in the 80s). And in episode 6 as the trick or treating is about to begin, they say “Kick-Ass” a couple of times and I feel like they did so because Evan Peters was in the movie “Kick-Ass”. There are just so many Easter eggs throughout. 🙂

I am having so much fun with these reactions and your theories. It was announced that Teyonah Parris would be playing adult Monica at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con, so it wasn’t a surprise for some. I wasn’t aware of that announcement when I first watched WandaVision. I had no idea Geraldine was Monica and it didn’t even occur to me that she might be. When I heard Carol’s voice say “Lt. Trouble” as Monica was reappearing, I gasp and said it’s the little girl from Captain Marvel grown up 😆 Seeing Jimmy & Darcy just made it even better! Especially Darcy, it had been almost 10 years since we last saw her in the MCU timeline. Love that she got her doctorate in astrophysics. Yes, that is Wanda, Pietro, & Vision’s OG comic costumes X-MEN!!! Quite a few other reactors I watch are at the Fox X-Men Universe portion of their Marvel journey and I have been chomping at the bit for you to mention them, and or start watching them. I couldn’t remember if you had mentioned them before. No rush, pressure, or expectations for your reactions to the X-Men films/ shows. I am just happy that they are still on your radar and that you looked up the Pietro/Peter Maximoff connection so that it isn’t spoiled for you before you get to them. Yes, the fandom that knew who Evan Peters was in relation to the X-Men films went crazy! So many theories when episode 5 dropped originally, I geeked all the way out! The X-Men were my first introduction to the Marvel universe via the 90’s animated series and they hold a special place in my adolescent heart.

2023-08-27 07:40:42 +0000 UTCThe rewatchability of this show is amazing. Seeing how it all ends will make the earlier episodes carry an entire different weight than they did before. Btw the “Lagos” commercial was in reference to the hospital Wanda accidentally blew up in Civil War. It was a hospital in Lagos. That’s why the tag line of the commercial was “Lagos: When you makes a mess, you didn’t mean to!” Also, if you rewatch the scene where Wanda came out of the Hex, you’ll notice her accent came back! Very slight and hard to notice but I think Liz did a great job at making the switch sound natural.
